Australian tour passengers outraged by Jetstar's long flight delay

Many Vietnamese tourists who bought package tours to Australia are upset because Jetstar flight JQ62 was delayed for a long time, disrupting their travel schedules, causing additional costs and seriously affecting the quality of their vacation.

According to the report, the passenger bought a tour from Vietravel and flew with Jetstar. The airline initially announced that flight JQ62 departing from Ho Chi Minh City to Sydney, scheduled for the evening of July 13, was postponed to 10:00 a.m. on July 14 and landed in Sydney at 9:30 p.m. the same day.

The travel agency immediately sent an apology message and adjusted the tour schedule, moving the July 14 tour program to the free day of July 16 so as to "not lose" the destinations sold in the tour. The gathering time was also moved to 6:45 a.m. on July 14 at Tan Son Nhat International Terminal.

As of tonight, passengers are waiting to check in but are informed that 9:55pm is still not certain to depart. According to flight tracking data on Flightradar24 and passenger feedback, JQ62 may actually be postponed to tomorrow.

This means the group of guests was delayed for 2 full days, not just 1 day as initially announced.

Many angry passengers said the damage was not only the lost waiting time but also the disruption to vacation plans, hotel and food costs during the waiting time and the reduced quality of the vacation.

In addition, customers are upset with the delay lasting nearly 2 days, and the international airline and travel company have not yet offered compensation.

Regulations on compensation for international flight delays are often clearly applied only to some airlines and some countries, but in this case, Vietnamese tourists on tours are often "stuck" in a three-party relationship between airline, tour company, and customer, with compensation responsibilities not being transparent.

According to information from the operations department at Tan Son Nhat, international airlines announce flight delays frequently, and usually notify passengers in advance.

However, this is a foreign airline, so the complaint and compensation process will be handled by the airline's representative, but not all airlines have a representative in Vietnam.
