Resuming flights from Russia to Phu Quoc, welcoming 220 passengers this afternoon

After a temporary suspension, flights from Russia to Phu Quoc special economic zone have resumed, bringing 220 Russian tourists to this beautiful island for fun and relaxation.

At around 3:30 p.m. on October 19, Vietjet Air's Airbus 321 - VJ 3522 aircraft carrying 220 Russian passengers landed at Phu Quoc International Airport.

This charter flight officially marked the reopening of flights from Russia to Phu Quoc special economic zone after a temporary interruption.

"Phu Quoc is in its most beautiful season of the year with clear blue sea water. Russian tourists love to come to the island to have fun. We are connecting with many businesses to prepare rooms and tours to serve Russian guests.

"We expect to bring about 10,000 Russian tourists to Phu Quoc every month for entertainment and relaxation," said Mr. Phan Dang Anh - Deputy General Director of Anex Vietnam Company.

An Giang Department of Tourism said that in the first 9 months of 2025, the number of Russian tourists to Phu Quoc is estimated to reach nearly 52,000. Tourism businesses in Phu Quoc predict that the number of Russian tourists to Phu Quoc will increase in late 2025.

Phu Quoc currently encourages local tourism businesses to continuously improve product quality to serve tourists.

The locality is also proposing to the competent authority to consider extending the visa period for international visitors to Phu Quoc to 180 days so that everyone can enjoy their vacations comfortably.
