In order to preserve and promote the traditional cultural identity of the Khmer people, tonight, November 25th, Soc Trang province will hold the opening ceremony of the Ooc Om Boc Festival - Soc Trang Province Ngo Boat Race 2023 with the theme "Soc Trang - Aspiration to Reach Further".
This is a major cultural event, an annual activity that has long become a distinctive cultural and tourism product of Soc Trang province.

The Oóc Om Bóc Festival – Ngo Boat Race in Soc Trang Province in 2023 aims to honor the beautiful traditional culture of the Khmer ethnic group, fulfilling the aspirations and needs of the cultural and spiritual life of the ethnic groups in the province in general and the Khmer people in particular. Soc Trang Province hopes that through this festival, it will diversify activities to stimulate, promote, and develop tourism in the province. This will attract and mobilize investment resources for the development of tourism infrastructure; raise community awareness about tourism development; and encourage and support people to participate in tourism activities.
At the opening ceremony of the festival, the Vietnam Record Organization awarded the Decision and Certificate of Vietnam Record to Soc Trang province for the largest mosaic painting with the theme "Rice Plants Then and Now" made from ST25 rice in Vietnam.
The Oóc Om Bóc Festival – Ngo Boat Race of Soc Trang Province takes place in Soc Trang City with activities such as: Ngo boat race; Moon worship ceremony; Loi Protip (Water Lantern Release) and Ca Hau boat performance; Trade promotion fair for OCOP products, regional specialties and a conference on trade and supply-demand connection of goods in Soc Trang province; "Flavors of Soc Trang" street food festival; Art photography exhibition; and Southern region Khmer television singing festival.
