Opening of the photo and documentary exhibition '80 years - Forever echoing the heroic song of independence'

The exhibition introduces the documentary photo series '80 years - Forever resounding heroic independence' and displays 90 outstanding works from the 2025 News and Art Photography Competition.

In the excited and proud atmosphere to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, on the morning of August 19, at the Eastern Cultural Center (Hai Phong), the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong organized the opening ceremony of the photo and document exhibition "80 years - Forever resounding the heroic song of independence" and awarded the prizes of the "News and Artistic Photography Contest 2025".

Part 1 of the exhibition introduces the documentary photo series “80 years - Forever resounding the heroic song of independence” which outlines the historical process from the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam , the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, to the outstanding achievements of the country and Hai Phong city in the fields of economy, culture, society, national defense, health, education over the past 80 years. The photo series consists of 100 works, collected and compiled by the Center for Culture, Cinema and Exhibition from many valuable sources.

Part 2 displays 90 outstanding works from the 2025 News and Art Photography Competition. The works vividly reflect the breath of the times, social life and the development of Hai Phong land and people.

The exhibition is an opportunity for cadres, party members, people and tourists to look back on the 80-year journey of revolutionary struggle, construction and growth of the country; at the same time, affirm the role of photography in preserving and spreading historical and cultural values and aspirations for development.

The Organizing Committee awarded 11 prizes to the winning authors. The first prize went to author Vo Van Hoang with the photo series “Early spring festival at Bach Hao pagoda”. In addition, there were 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 5 consolation prizes awarded to authors whose works were rich in topicality, art, and related to social life and the cause of national construction and development.

The exhibition is open to the public from August 19 to September 5, 2025.
