On October 2, the People's Committee of Son La province held the opening ceremony of the document exhibition "Son La - Historical imprints through archival documents".

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors; People's Committees of To Hieu, Chieng Coi, Chieng An, Chieng Sinh wards and officials, civil servants and public employees of the Home Affairs sector; students of Tay Bac University and Son La College. This is a practical activity to welcome the success of the 16th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030 and to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the establishment of Son La province (October 10, 1895 - October 10, 2025).

Students of Northwest University attended the opening ceremony.

The exhibition is designed in three parts: Historical milestones of Son La province's administrative boundaries; Son La - The period of fighting to protect the government and build the country; Son La - The period of innovation and development. Nearly 200 copies of documents, images, and maps of important historical value were selected, comprehensively reflecting the formation and development process of Son La province through the periods. Images and documents on socio -economy, education and training, health, national defense and security, international cooperation, and tangible and intangible cultural heritage of 12 ethnic groups have vividly recreated the journey of nearly 40 years of innovation. The great and comprehensive achievements in all fields are the foundation for Son La to continue to develop greenly, quickly, and sustainably.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the opening ceremony.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Dang Ngoc Hau, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, suggested: The Department of Home Affairs and the Provincial Historical Archives Center need to promote the application of digital technology, build an electronic database, and move towards forming a "Digital Archive" to serve convenient search for officials and people; proactively organize regular thematic exhibitions, bringing archival documents closer to the public. Departments, branches, and localities coordinate to collect, exploit, and use archival documents, considering them an important source of historical data for research, policy making, and traditional education .

He also requested press agencies, media, mass organizations, especially the Youth Union and the Education and Training sector to actively promote and spread the value of archival documents to the younger generation; mobilize people, pupils and students to visit and experience to understand, appreciate and promote the value of archival heritage and be a bridge to bring history closer to the community.
