On October 25, Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) opened its 8th Int’l Data Center (IDC) at Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park. This is the largest center in Vietnam, invested by VNPT with the most modern technologies, fully meeting international technical standards.

IDC Hoa Lac has a total floor area of 23,000m2, with a scale of 2,000 rack cabinets, the largest in Vietnam today. The center has achieved Uptime Tier III certification for design (TCDD), construction and installation (TCCF) and is soon to be certified for operation (TCOS). The equipment in IDC is provided by famous brands from G7 countries.

IDC Hoa Lac has the ability to connect to super-fast networks, averaging 2Gbps/rack for domestic connections and 0.5Gbps/rack for international connections, thanks to the advantage of being the leading telecommunications network operator in Vietnam of VNPT.

Notably, VNPT IDC Hoa Lac is also equipped with N+1 redundancy to ensure safe and continuous operation even during repairs and maintenance, helping customers' services not to experience any interruptions. In particular, the 6-layer security monitoring system from the outside to the inside of the Data Hall meets international standards, helping to ensure the highest level of customer data security.

It is known that along with IDC Hoa Lac, VNPT owns 8 IDCs present in major provinces and cities including Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City. Of which, IDC Hoa Lac is the largest and most modern in Vietnam.

At the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Board of Members of VNPT Group To Dung Thai said: The opening of the Hoa Lac IDC Center is a process of effort and striving to make VNPT become the leading IDC provider in Vietnam and the region. The center meets the most stringent technical and safety standards of the world and Vietnam, and will contribute to bringing a complete digital infrastructure ecosystem to VNPT's customers and partners, aiming for each service provided to be personalized according to needs and suitable service packages.

It is expected that in the coming time, VNPT Group will continue to seek cooperation opportunities with partners and investors to build new regional and world-class data centers, using green and sustainable technology. This affirms VNPT's role in accompanying the government and businesses in realizing the aspiration of national digital transformation, towards the goal of becoming a Digital Hub of the region.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said: "Data infrastructure is the most important part of digital infrastructure. Every 3 years, the world's data doubles. Vietnam's data increases faster, currently there are 39 small and medium-sized IDCs nationwide. Every year we must inaugurate at least 5 centers like this to basically meet Vietnam's data needs."

Congratulating VNPT on putting IDC Hoa Lac into operation, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung requested that in the coming time, the group continue to build IDCs on par with international standards, becoming a digital infrastructure provider that meets the needs of digital government, digital economy and digital society in our country; so that Vietnamese enterprises no longer have to worry about renting data storage and processing outside of Vietnam as well as attracting global customers.

The Ministry of Information and Communications calls on Vietnamese enterprises to use Vietnamese cloud computing services and prioritize using Vietnamese goods, especially when Vietnamese goods meet the world's most stringent standards with competitive prices.

The Ministry of Information and Communications recommends that ministries, branches, localities, organizations, enterprises... instead of investing in operating IDCs and information technology systems themselves, switch to using services from professional providers, which will be more cost-effective, optimize performance and safety, and be more flexible, contributing to the development of digital technology in the country./.
