Although it is still more than 10 days away from its inauguration, the Bac Lieu Provincial Museum is attracting the attention of both locals and tourists. Because this is not only a cultural project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, but also the province's first digitized museum to bring interesting experiences to visitors in exploring the land of Bac Lieu past and present.
VISIT ON DIGITAL PLATFORM
Not only viewing artifacts or listening to explanations in the traditional form as before, from April 26, visitors to Bac Lieu Provincial Museum will have the opportunity to learn about the land and people of Bac Lieu on a digital platform. Located inside the Cultural - Art Exhibition Center and Cao Van Lau Theater, the new museum is designed in an open space, with many items applying digital solutions to bring the most vivid images of Bac Lieu from the war to the development period.
According to the design, the first floor of the Bac Lieu Provincial Museum is a place to display thematic information about the history of formation, administrative boundaries of the province and the natural environment. Coming to the second floor, an interesting space is opened to bring visitors to the Oc Eo culture, the unique cultural identity of the three ethnic groups Kinh - Khmer - Hoa. Finally, the third floor is a place to display the revolutionary history of the Party Committee, army and people of Bac Lieu in the two resistance wars against France and America and Bac Lieu on the path of development.
The highlight of the museum is not only the reproduction of the image of Bac Lieu past and present but also the digitization of artifacts and documents. Built according to the model of a modern museum, interactive screens are placed in many locations inside the museum to enhance the connection between visitors and cultural heritage. The digitized artifacts will bring 3D, 4D images, multi-dimensional and close-up views of the artifacts that traditional museums cannot do.
Mr. Pham Duc Han - Chairman of the Board of Directors of AVEW Investment and Construction Group Joint Stock Company - the contractor of technology solutions for the Provincial Museum, said: "In the context of a small investment budget and many difficulties in converting the function from an exhibition center to a museum, implementing digital transformation solutions for the Provincial Museum is a great determination of the province to keep up with the trend of developing modern museums. Visiting the museum on a digital platform will bring the public an interesting experience journey, with a more attractive and engaging approach to artifacts and historical documents".

DOCUMENTATION FOR ARTIFACTS
Those who manage relics and museums in the province are very excited about the inauguration of the new museum. Because the previous provincial museum was an ancient house built more than a century ago with degraded facilities and equipment, it did not meet the conditions for preserving artifacts. Along with that, the lack of investment in technology has prevented the old museum from promoting the historical and cultural values of the heritage.
According to Mr. Le Thanh Tu - Director of the Provincial Museum, there are currently more than 6,000 solid objects, documents, images, and DVDs stored at the museum. Especially 5 national treasures, in which the bronze objects such as: Sadashiva Statue, Shiva Head, and Male God Statue are very susceptible to environmental temperature. If not well preserved, many objects are likely to be damaged. Therefore, digitizing documents will create an information file for each object, moving towards building a database system to do a good job of archiving and serving museum research activities.
Although the scale of investment is still limited, the initial application of technology has helped Bac Lieu have a digital museum for the first time; gradually concretizing the policies and laws of the Party and State to effectively preserve and promote the value of the cultural heritage of our ancestors. This is also a unique address to educate today's generation about the historical and cultural traditions of the province and is an attractive tourism product for friends near and far.
