On the afternoon of August 29th, a seminar was held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Education to discuss the work " Following in the Footsteps of the Great Man" by Professor Trinh Quang Phu.

"Following in the Footsteps of the Great Leader" is the seventh book by Professor Trinh Quang Phu about President Ho Chi Minh . It is also the culmination of 28 years of diligent research and dedication. The author, Trinh Quang Phu, skillfully uses the narrative form to recreate President Ho Chi Minh's arduous journey during his 30 years abroad, presenting it as vivid, realistic, easy-to-understand, and memorable stories. However, he shared that writing this work was by no means easy . "Currently, choosing to write about President Ho Chi Minh is self-defeating, as thousands of works have already been written about him. How to make my work different and well-received is what I ponder," shared author Trinh Quang Phu.

Poet Nguyen Quang Thieu, President of the Vietnam Writers Association , commented: “Through truthful, skillful, and simple storytelling, and a deep love for President Ho Chi Minh, author Trinh Quang Phu has overcome the barriers of a writer writing about a great historical figure like President Ho Chi Minh. Therefore, when reading this book, readers feel as if they are living in that era, as if they are living alongside that great man, and that is the wonderful thing about literature.”

In today's context, where young people have easy access to information from various sources, writing about history not only requires high accuracy but also needs to convey inspiration and create a sense of closeness for young readers. " Following in the Footsteps of the Great Leader" has successfully guided young readers into the world of literature and followed President Ho Chi Minh's journey to save the country with special emotions.

Tran Thanh Tam, a student from the History Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, shared: As a history student, I have read many documents about President Ho Chi Minh, but not all of them are consistent. However, when I read 'Following in His Footsteps ,' I found the story told clearly and easily, helping me to grasp and remember it much more easily.”

“While reading this book, I was deeply moved by the story of President Ho Chi Minh celebrating his first Tet (Lunar New Year) in Vietnam after 30 years of separation. The vivid description of the moment he reunited with his comrades and personally shook hands with each of them left a profound impression on me, highlighting the camaraderie, revolutionary spirit, and love for his homeland of this great man,” said Kongmanykeo, a Laotian student participating in the discussion.

Trinh Quang Phu's book, " Following in the Footsteps of the Great Leader," successfully brings the image and ideology of President Ho Chi Minh closer to today's young generation. The work is not only a literary piece of historical value but also a very authentic journey about Uncle Ho, rich in emotion, helping young people gain a fresh perspective on his life and career. The quintessential values and patriotic spirit in the work will continue to inspire many generations of young Vietnamese people, encouraging them to live and work according to Ho Chi Minh's thoughts, ethics, and style, while also better understanding the strength of Vietnamese national unity.
