Discover the world's largest airship, transporting the super rich
Tuesday, June 18, 2024 08:55 AM (GMT+7)
Airlander 10 is considered the world's largest aircraft, with a length equivalent to a football field and a height equal to six double-decker buses stacked on top of each other.
Nicknamed "The Flying Bum", the Airlander 10 is a combination of plane, helicopter and airship developed by British company Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV).
The Airlander 10 costs £25 million (more than $33 million), is 92m long, or about 18m longer than the Airbus A380 - the world's largest passenger plane, which is nearly 73m long. Although larger than the A380, the Airlander's maximum speed is only 147km/h compared to the A380's continuous speed of 901km/h.
HAV plans to take up to 19 passengers on a three-day cruise on the Airlander 10, and it looks like these high-flying guests will have a blast.
The Airlander 10 is a giant with an interior like a 5-star hotel. Passengers experience spacious space, with legroom designed like the business class cabin on modern aircraft.
The Airlander 10 features luxurious bedrooms with private bathrooms, an "sky bar" and spacious living areas.
The interior design of the bedroom creates a comfortable, soft feeling.
The most interesting feature of the interior design is the glass floor, allowing passengers to enjoy the vast sky view from a height of nearly 5km above sea level.
The giant airship has now completed six successful test flights, but it will need to complete a total of 200 incident-free hours in the sky before it is allowed to carry commercial passengers.
The hybrid airship is expected to enter service in 2025, challenging conventional jets on some popular short-haul routes, thanks to its comfort and 90% lower emissions.
