VnExpressVnExpress10/06/2023

BINH DINH De Gi - Vung Boi has become a favorite destination for tourists who love diving and exploring nature after a pod of whales appeared last year.

The journey begins at De Gi, a historic seaport of Binh Dinh, located in Cat Khanh commune, Phu Cat district. This location is about 50 km north of Quy Nhon city.

Tourists board the boat from De Gi estuary, travel about 4 km to reach Vung Boi, in Vinh Loi village, My Thanh commune, Phu My district.

Tourists can book a package tour for about 1,500,000 VND for 3 days and 2 nights, including meals, fishing, night squid fishing, boat trips, and homestays. In addition to Vung Boi with its clear blue beach, tourists can also visit Hon Trau Island or explore the giant squash village. In addition to the 3 days and 2 nights tour, shorter tours are available at lower prices.

After taking the boat to Vung Boi, visitors go to the peninsula by canoe, then transfer items such as gas cylinders, stoves, camping gear, and food to shore.

Scuba diving is a popular activity in Vung Boi. For those who know how to swim and have strength, they can be instructed to shoot fish, hunt squid, and octopus.

Do Thanh Toan (Tommy Toan), a veteran diver and also an experienced safety guide for guests, said that in addition to hunting fish, tourists can dive to see coral.

Families traveling in groups with young children often choose to explore near the rocky beach for safety. They often swim, play, then eat, drink and sing on the sand.
Catching crabs is a memorable experience for families. Mr. Van Linh, a tourist from Quang Ngai , said catching crabs is not easy but makes everyone excited. Sometimes, many people coordinate but still cannot catch crabs.
Greenback crabs hide in the crevices of rocks on Vung Boi peninsula.
The emerald green sea water surrounded by rocks in the De Gi - Vung Boi sea area is like a lake in the middle of the sea.

In addition to diving, catching crabs, and hunting fish, visitors can also enjoy some of the area's famous dishes such as sashimi (photo), grilled fish, sweet fish, and clams.

From the water to the shore, you can admire or climb the sand dunes that stretch over 5 square kilometers, with patterns like sand waves.
Camping is an indispensable part of Vung Boi. You can stay overnight if you want to have fun the next day.
Thanks to taking tourists to explore the area, Mr. Do Thanh Toan discovered a school of whales hunting for prey last year (photo). The school of blue whales caused a stir in the media, making the De Gi - Vung Boi tour more popular. "In the process of doing tourism, we pay attention to keeping Vung Boi clean, tourists are also aware of cleaning up trash, making this place always green," said Mr. Do Cuong, one of the tour guides.
