On the afternoon of April 14th, the grandstands on both sides of Le Duan Street (District 1), near the Reunification Hall, were basically completed to serve the parade and march commemorating the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The grandstand is approximately 400 meters long, stretching from the intersection with Pham Ngoc Thach Street to Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports , stated that the grandstand has a capacity of 5,260 delegates, an increase of 1,601 people compared to the 40th anniversary of reunification. Specifically, Grandstand A has 1,068 seats, Grandstand B has 1,832 seats, and Grandstand C has 2,360 seats.

The main grandstand, approximately 10 meters high, has been largely completed, including seating, access ramps, railings, and LED screens.

The main grandstand features seating constructed from metal panels, arranged in nine tiered rows and without a roof. Beneath the grandstand is a sturdy, robust support structure.

In the center is the covered grandstand, which is also undergoing final construction. Behind the grandstand are the press area, the base block area, two main power substations, the press data processing center, the medical area, ambulance and fire trucks, a cluster of mobile toilets, and the technical center.

Opposite the main stage area, set up on the sidewalk of Le Duan Street and a part of the 30/4 Park, are smaller stands interspersed with LED screens.

To facilitate construction work in the past few days and in the coming period, traffic on Le Duan and Pasteur roads will be restricted. Traffic police will deploy forces to adjust traffic flow appropriately, minimizing the impact on the daily lives and travel of people in the area.

The stage floor is covered with wood to ensure safety during artistic performances. LED screens are installed in both the stands and on the stage. According to the Department of Culture and Sports, instead of performing synchronized formations and lettering as in previous years, the venue will utilize a digital stage and LED screens to broadcast images of the anniversary celebration, parade, and march.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City installed 20 LED screens on central streets for residents and tourists to watch the commemoration ceremony live. Specifically, there are 6 screens on Le Duan Street, 3 on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, 3 on Le Loi Street; and 2 screens each on Nguyen Hue, Dong Khoi, Dien Bien Phu, and Nguyen Dinh Chieu streets.

Construction is also underway on the grandstands and stage inside the Reunification Hall.

On the construction site, hundreds of workers are busy completing the final items such as installing the sound system, canopies, and decorating the stands and stage.

The workers are installing the flooring for the grandstand and stage. Prior to this, the flowerbeds on the sidewalks and median strips of Le Duan Street were removed and the trees trimmed to make way for construction.

Workers are erecting scaffolding approximately 20 meters high to construct the sound, lighting, and screen systems for the grand ceremony.

"Since the beginning of April, the workers have been working hard to finish the grandstand and stage in time for the grand ceremony, to serve the people watching the parade," said Lo Van Thim, 37 years old.

In the coming period, the remaining items on Le Duan Street, from the Cong Xa Paris roundabout to the entrance of the Botanical Garden, will be completed, along with the dismantling of the median strip to facilitate the program's rehearsal. After the event, the dismantling, restoration of the site, and reconstruction of the landscape will take place from May 1-12.

The 50th anniversary celebration of national reunification featured 48 marching and parade contingents, with approximately 13,000 participants. At 6:30 AM on April 30th, the parade started at the intersection of Le Duan and Nguyen Binh Khiem streets, proceeding to the Reunification Hall and then passing through several streets in District 1 for the public to enjoy.

The ceremony will include a 21-gun salute to the tune of the Vietnamese national anthem, and the Air Defense and Air Force Command will deploy dozens of Mi-8 and Mi-17 helicopters, Yak-130 fighter jets, and Su-30MK2 fighters for a demonstration. Vietnam has invited the armies of China, Laos, and Cambodia to participate in the parade.
