This achievement follows the Bronze Award for Best Team that the Vietnamese Exhibition House was recently awarded in another independent award system at EXPO, clearly demonstrating the creativity and cultural identity of Vietnam in the international arena.
Impressive milestone
On October 12, at EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai (Japan), the World Exhibition Awards Ceremony (BIE Day Awards) took place - within the framework of the Official Participant Awards program (Awards for official participating countries) co-hosted by the World Exhibition Organization (BIE - Bureau International des Expositions) and the EXPO 2025 Organizing Committee.
This is the most official and prestigious award in the EXPO award system, with a long history originating from the first World Exhibition held in London (UK) in 1851.
The BIE jury consists of 9 members who are the world's leading prestigious experts in the fields of culture, society, architecture, urban planning, communication, diplomacy ... The award is selected according to 3 major award categories: Architecture and Landscape Design, Exhibition Design, Theme Development of EXPO 2025 ( Designing future society for our lives ). EXPO 2025 is also the first time to add the Sustainable Development Award.
This year, EXPO 2025 with 165 participating countries and international organizations, in the category of Pre-built Exhibition Halls and Small Houses (Type B and Type X), Vietnam has excellently won the Silver Award in the category of Best Exhibition Design , in the same category with the Peru Exhibition House receiving the Gold Award and Cambodia the Bronze Award.
Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), Deputy General Representative of Vietnam at EXPO 2025 Tran Nhat Hoang said: “The entire team of the Vietnam Exhibition House is extremely moved and proud. First of all, the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) has successfully completed the national tasks approved by the Prime Minister in the Project to participate in EXPO 2025, from the target of welcoming visitors to initiatives to promote the image of Vietnam to the world.
The fact that Vietnam was honored with the Silver Award for the Best Exhibition Design category at a World Exhibition for the first time is a big step forward, affirming Vietnam's position and creative capacity in global events. We have exploited a variety of traditional cultural materials combined with a modern language of expression. This award proves that we have a rich and beautiful culture recognized by the world."
In particular, the success of Vietnam Exhibition House comes not only from impressive display designs but also from a young, creative and enthusiastic team.
Just before that, Vietnam Pavilion was honored to receive the Bronze Award for Best Pavilion Team voted by the Jury of The Experiential Design Authority – consisting of prestigious US and international consultants.
Vietnam Exhibition House was simultaneously honored in two important categories of design and operation management, demonstrating the comprehensive and synchronous efforts of the Steering Committee, design team, implementation and operation team of Vietnam Exhibition House.
Vietnam Pavilion at EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai (Japan) was conceptualized by the Department of International Cooperation. Mark 'n B designed the space and graphics and Pico International constructed it.
Taking the theme of a Human-Centered Inclusive Society , the design of the Exhibition Hall closely follows the spirit of EXPO 2025 Designing Future Society for Our Lives , while honoring the Vietnamese national identity through decorative design, interior, exhibits and modern, creative expressions.
Vietnamese exhibitor wins Bronze Award for “Best Team” at EXPO 2025
The exhibition space is a harmonious combination of advanced technology and traditional cultural values, giving international visitors a vivid experience of a Vietnam that is rich in identity, dynamic, innovative and creative.
The highlight of the Exhibition House is the water pavilion space and water puppet stage where traditional art performances take place; at the same time, in the same space, there is a combination of hologram technology, interactive touch screens and emotional art experiences.
The vibrant activities and unique, distinctive and meticulously designed space have captivated tens of thousands of international visitors every day, becoming one of the most impressive and popular performance spaces at EXPO 2025.
Bridge to exchange and promote the image of modern Vietnam
In 6 months, the Vietnam Exhibition House welcomed nearly 1.7 million visitors and millions of visitors to outdoor events and online platforms; organized more than 1,400 traditional musical instrument performances, water puppetry, and more than 20 international music and art exchange programs with exhibition houses from the US, Portugal, Thailand, Malaysia, Cuba, Saudi Arabia, etc.
The Exhibition House has coordinated with ministries, branches, localities and enterprises to organize a series of Vietnam Days/Weeks at EXPO 2025, typically the Announcement Ceremony of National Tourism Year - Hue 2025, Quang Ninh Week, Quang Nam Week, Binh Phuoc Week, Hanoi Days, Ninh Binh - Heart of Heritage, and Vietnam National Brand Week at EXPO 2025.
Many activities for Vietnamese expatriates living in Japan were also held enthusiastically, typically the Parade of Vietnamese traditional costumes within the framework of Vietnam National Day at EXPO 2025, with the participation of dozens of overseas Vietnamese who are excellent students studying in Japan; the Mid-Autumn Festival reunion and exchange program "Learning together, loving Vietnamese together" ; the exhibition "President Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of peace and friendship" .
In addition, more than 200 talks, workshops, interactive activities on making lacquer paintings, making figurines, and playing traditional musical instruments of K'long put and T'rung have attracted a large number of international visitors, providing a lively cultural experience and multi-sensory interaction.
Thanks to these rich and creative activities, the Vietnam Exhibition House has become a bridge for cultures to meet, dialogue, and spread the values of peace and cooperation, affirming the image of a modern, dynamic, creative and unique Vietnam.
The success of the Vietnam Pavilion at EXPO 2025 Osaka, Kansai (Japan) is not only the pride of the culture, sports and tourism industry, but also a vivid testament to the beauty of Vietnamese culture and people, demonstrating the stature, mettle and creativity of Vietnam in the journey of international integration.
