Khanh Hoa: Mobilizing forces to rescue people affected by floods

Heavy rains in recent days, combined with flood discharges from dams in the area, have caused the water level of rivers to rise very quickly. Dinh Ninh Hoa River, at 11:00 p.m. on November 19, exceeded the historic flood peak of 1986. Many localities in Khanh Hoa province are submerged in "water", and people are constantly sending out distress signals.

Faced with the serious impact of floods on people's lives and properties, on the night of November 19, at the request of Khanh Hoa province, Naval Region 4 and the Naval Academy urgently mobilized more than 300 officers and soldiers along with many rescue equipment, vehicles and necessities to support the people.

The Navy quickly mobilized to high-risk areas such as Suoi Hiep commune, Tay Nha Trang ward, Cam Lam commune, Cam Hiep commune and Suoi Dau area to carry out their duties. In the localities, officers and soldiers proactively coordinated with functional agencies to deploy rescue measures, evacuate people from dangerous areas, ensuring the safety of life and property.

At 3 a.m. on November 20, at Cuu Loi 3 village, Cam Lam commune, officers and soldiers of Naval Region 4 approached and brought 9 isolated people to a safe location. In other locations, rescue work is still being urgently and resolutely deployed by forces to ensure the safety and lives of the people.

This heavy rain has seriously affected the flood situation from the plains to the mountainous areas of the province. Khanh Hoa province has proactively implemented the "4 on-site" plans early and regularly increased the army and police forces to the vulnerable and isolated areas to support the rescue of the people.
