Khanh Linh said that in the joyful inspiration from the April 30th celebration to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification, moving towards celebrating the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), she was very happy to be a model for the Light Painting Concept photo series in a traditional Vietnamese ao dai, a red flag hat with a yellow star combined with direct light painting of the national flag.

Dance with pride

“This is a sacred occasion for all young people born and raised in an independent and peaceful country like me to have deep feelings and pride for their homeland, gratitude and appreciation for the generations of fathers and grandfathers who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for the young generation to express their love for the great President Ho Chi Minh, follow his teachings in studying, working, and daily activities with a sense of responsibility and dedication” - Khanh Linh confided.

With the connection and enthusiastic support from photographers Tran Phuong, Lam Nhut Hung..., Khanh Linh had the opportunity to be a model for the Light Painting Concept photo series, expressing the story through each slow frame to explore the creative ability to combine light and movement smoothly. Khanh Linh's live performance of diverse dances in costumes and genres on a sublime light background, blending into works of artistic color rich in emotion.

This is also an inspiring and interesting creative experience for both photographers and models. Khanh Linh said: “For dancers, expressing demeanor, body gestures and movements is very important. I especially love wearing traditional Vietnamese women's costumes such as ao dai, ao tu than combined with conical hat, non quai thao hat... all of which are familiar cultural heritages that have been associated for a long time. Therefore, I feel very honored and proud. Especially when there is a background of light painted with the colors of the national flag behind me.”

Dinh Nu Khanh Linh graduated from the Ho Chi Minh City Dance School in 2020 and is currently an actress at the Lotus National Music and Dance Theater. Her strengths are traditional folk dance, contemporary folk dance, European classical dance (ballet) and Chinese dance.

Go all out with dance

During the recent 30-4 holiday season, Khanh Linh and the actors of the Lotus Traditional Music and Dance Theatre participated in many large and small art programs to serve the public. In order to be able to perform at peak art performances, Khanh Linh regularly maintains a serious daily training schedule such as morning warm-up exercises, stretching, warming up, and ballet under the guidance of instructors.

Then the actors practice the theater’s detailed dance routines in preparation for the performances until late afternoon. “Sometimes I even take extra dance classes in the evening to improve my professional skills and satisfy my interests,” Linh said.

Usually when the practice and performance schedule is busy, dancers pay more attention to energy intake such as "never skip breakfast to maintain energy for practice, always bring food with you to eat on time, at the right meal to avoid stomach pain, if you don't eat enough your body will be tired".

Khanh Linh said she focuses on reducing starch in her diet, eating dinner before 7:30 p.m., jogging to keep in shape...

“There are continuous performance seasons, repeating dance routines every day, which can easily drain dancers’ energy and require them to recharge, sleep early, wake up early, listen to relaxing music, clean their living space, cook, read books… In addition, I am also passionate about dance wear fashion. Buying a new set of clothes also motivates me to work harder and dance better” - Khanh Linh happily shared.

Light Painting Concept is a skillful and attractive exposure photography technique in photography. The photographer uses long exposure times on the camera sensor, light from flashlights, LED lights, fiber optic cables, glow sticks, hand-held fireworks… that are “painted” (ie moved) by the operator in a dark space, creating unique artistic images.

This photography technique requires a high contrast between light and dark environments to create a variety of rich photo styles depending on the subject of the model, the technician "paints" the light source to create lines and shapes and the photographer takes pictures to create impressive, magical photos with shimmering color effects and unique creativity.
