Inauguration of the various components of Dong Tranh Pagoda

On the afternoon of May 7th, Dong Tranh Pagoda in Vinh Binh commune (An Giang province) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to inaugurate its gate, fence, and other auxiliary structures.

Delegates performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony at Dong Tranh Pagoda.

Dong Tranh Pagoda, built in 1887 and having been presided over by 13 abbots, is considered a testament to the struggles in defending and building the nation. After more than three years of construction, the gate and fence have now been completed at a total cost of nearly 2 billion VND, funded by donations from Buddhist followers mobilized by Venerable Danh Dung, the abbot of Dong Tranh Pagoda.

The Patriotic Buddhist Monks' Solidarity Association of An Giang Province awarded certificates of commendation to collectives and individuals who have achieved outstanding results in contributing to the construction of various projects at Dong Tranh Pagoda.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Binh commune awarded certificates of commendation to one collective and one individual for outstanding achievements in humanitarian and charitable work in the commune. The Chairman of the Patriotic Buddhist Monks' Solidarity Association of An Giang province also awarded certificates of commendation to one collective and one individual for outstanding achievements in contributing to the construction of various projects at Dong Tranh Pagoda.
