Inauguration of the Lang Son - China freight transport route.

TPO - The project to expand the dedicated cargo transport route in the area of ​​border markers 1119-1120 at Huu Nghi International Border Gate aims to build a smart border gate model, improve customs clearance capacity, and serve as a prerequisite for deploying a modern, digitized border gate, creating convenience for people and businesses.

On the evening of November 27th, the People's Committee of Lang Son province and the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, jointly organized the inauguration ceremony for the dedicated road for transporting goods in the area of ​​border markers 1119-1120 of the Huu Nghi (Vietnam) - Huu Nghi Quan (China) smart border gate.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Canh Toan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province; Mr. Vi Thao - Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, along with representatives from several relevant agencies of both countries.

The project to expand the dedicated freight transport lane in the area of ​​border markers 1119 - 1120 at Huu Nghi International Border Gate is part of the pilot project for building smart border gates, with the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board as the investor. The project has a total investment of over 174.7 billion VND, divided into two phases: phase 1 expands from 4 lanes to 6 lanes, and phase 2 expands from 6 lanes to 14 lanes.

Following the active implementation of the project, the first phase of the dedicated road for transporting goods in the area of ​​border markers 1119-1120 of the Huu Nghi (Vietnam) - Huu Nghi Quan (China) smart border gate has been completed, contributing to improving the capacity for customs clearance of goods between the two sides.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Canh Toan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province, emphasized that 2025 is a year of special significance in the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China: commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, and also being the "Year of Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange" according to the common understanding and direct guidance of the high-level leaders of the two Parties and two States.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province affirmed that the inauguration of the dedicated road for transporting goods in the area of ​​border markers 1119 - 1120 is of special importance, being the first and foundational step in the process of building the smart border gate model of Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan.

"The project not only contributes to improving customs clearance capacity but also creates a foundation for the synchronized implementation of subsequent items, aiming towards a modern border gate model, connected to digital technology, with efficient management, safety, and convenience for people and businesses on both sides," said Mr. Nguyen Canh Toan.

To expedite progress and ensure the effectiveness of the smart border gate model, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province hopes that in the coming time, both sides will continue to direct specialized agencies to strengthen coordination and share information fully and promptly; and to quickly agree on important contents such as technical standards, connection infrastructure, management and operation model, data exchange mechanism and common inspection and control procedures.

Both sides will continue to expand cooperation in digital transformation, information technology, modern border management, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of smart border gates. This will contribute to fostering and building a stronger and more substantive friendship and cooperation between Lang Son and Guangxi.

At the ceremony, Mr. Vi Thao, Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, expressed that the inauguration of the dedicated freight transport road is of great significance and plays a key role in improving the capacity for customs clearance through the Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi Quan border gate.

This is a step forward marking the formation of a smart border gate between the two sides. Mr. Vi Thao believes that the friendly cooperative relationship between Guangxi and Lang Son province will continue to develop.

During the program, the leaders of the two provinces/regions announced the inauguration of the dedicated road for transporting goods. Immediately after the inauguration announcement, the delegates witnessed the operation of transporting import and export goods through the border gate.
