The project to build a regional connecting road from Tan Chau town to Chau Doc city, connecting with Kien Giang and Dong Thap provinces is invested with provincial and central budget capital. This is one of the very important traffic projects of An Giang province. The project has a total length of 20.96km, starting at the intersection with Provincial Road 954, Tan Chau ward, ending at the intersection with National Highway 91, Chau Doc ward.

The project has a total investment of over VND 2,131 billion, built according to the standards of a grade III delta road, with 6 intersections, 66 culverts, 3 permanent concrete bridges including Chau Doc, Muong Tri and Than Nong...; of which, Chau Doc bridge and the approach road were inaugurated in April 2024.

Upon completion, the project will contribute to the opening of National Highway N1 connecting the provinces of the Southwest region horizontally and completing the inter-regional transport system in the region. At the same time, it will expand the urban space of Tan Chau and Chau Doc wards, creating conditions for travel, circulation of goods, import and export through border gates, attracting tourists to An Giang; creating leverage in economic development and attracting businesses to invest in An Giang.
