(HGO) – On the evening of September 29, at Ho Sen Cultural Area (Vi Thanh city), the impressive Opening Ceremony of the Ao Ba Ba Festival - Hau Giang 2023 took place, with wonderful creations on traditional materials.
For hundreds of years, the Ao Ba Ba has been associated with the people of the South. They follow their grandmothers, mothers, and sisters to the battlefields, dig trenches, follow their brothers and fathers to the fields, and then everywhere on the roads and markets... the image of the Ao Ba Ba can be seen.
Yet when the Ambassadors and foreign guests wore Ao Ba Ba, everyone was amazed and clapped their hands continuously when they saw that the traditional Vietnamese costume was so suitable for these guests. This was a beautiful feature of the big event in Hau Giang, carrying a special spirit of cultural exchange.

TRUNG QUAN - HOANG NGUYEN - THU THUY - Performed by DANG THU
Mr. Saadi Salama, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Vietnam. Mr. Saadi Salama had previously come to Hau Giang to attend the press conference of this event, enjoy rustic dishes, and visit Cau Duc pineapple garden. He had a lot of sympathy for the land and people of Hau Giang.
He shared: The Southern scarf has similarities with the Palestinian Kefiah scarf, and with today's event, everything is wonderful to him.
Mr. Hynek Kmoníček, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic, his wife and son happily presented their T-shirts. The shirts were designed with images and famous landmarks of the Czech Republic.
Mr. Vahram Kazhoyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Vietnam and his wife, confidently performed Ao Ba Ba.
Mr. Daniel Stork, Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ho Chi Minh City, joins in the melody during the performance on the opening stage.
Mr. Kouteili Adib and Ms. Kouteili Rima Issa, two CEOs from Canada. Wearing beautifully designed Ao Ba Ba with the image of the palm tree, the symbol of Canada.
Mr. Vladovich Victor and Ms. Kseniia Khoilina from Russia were charismatic during the performance.
Dr. Ethan C. Brown, who teaches social science research methods and statistical cognition at Fulbright University Vietnam, enthusiastically joins the performance with the models.
Mr. David Emmanuel Pederson and Ms. Jasmin NA, Faculty Member in Literature, Fulbright University Vietnam, were a bit shy when performing Ao Ba Ba for the first time.
Spanish designer Laura Chula showcased an Ao Ba Ba made from pineapple leaf silk. She expressed her joy and felt very familiar with the local people when wearing the Ao Ba Ba.
Foreign guests were friendly and excited when asked to take souvenir photos.
