The 2024 high school graduation exam was held on June 26, 27, and 28. According to the assessment of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the exam was held seriously, in accordance with regulations, very thoughtfully and safely.
This is the final exam for candidates studying the 2006 generaleducation program. From next year, the exam will be changed to a new plan with 4 subjects, including 2 compulsory subjects: math, literature and 2 elective subjects from the remaining 9 subjects.
According to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training , the exam marking will take place from June 29, and the exam scores will be announced at 8:00 a.m. on July 17.
In case candidates request a review of their exam, the completion time for this stage will be no later than August 4.

After that, localities will conduct graduation exams for students taking the exam and use the graduation exam results to consider university and college admissions according to the enrollment plan.
Candidates for university admission will register their wishes on the common system of the Ministry of Education and Training, including early admission wishes and admission wishes using high school graduation exam results.
Regarding exam marking, a representative of the Ministry of Education and Training said that the conditions for machinery and equipment serving the computerized exam marking work are guaranteed for the multiple-choice exam marking councils.
Before starting to grade the essay test (literature test), the councils will meet to agree on the grading instructions. Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong affirmed that the recent literature test is open-ended, therefore, the grading instructions always include an open section for consideration. This can confirm that the grading is completely non-binding.
