The publicly released images show the precise moment of the Russian missile strike. A precision-guided missile destroyed a NASAMS missile launcher deployed near the settlement of Privolnoye in the Zaporozhye region. The NASAMS system is capable of countering drones, helicopters, cruise missiles, and fighter jets. When equipped with AIM-120 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles, the system has a range of 30 km.

SF News reports that the US, Norway, and Canada have committed to supplying Ukraine with a total of 11 NASAMS systems. Additionally, Lithuania has stated it will provide two launchers for these systems. However, it remains unclear how many systems have actually been delivered. Other countries, including the UK, Belgium, Sweden, and the Netherlands, have supplied hundreds of AMRAAM missiles to Kyiv's forces.
The Russian military has repeatedly targeted Ukraine's NASAMS systems, destroying several launchers and even the US-made AN/MPQ-64 Sentinel fire control radar.
It is noteworthy that in recent months, the Russian military has intensified its suppression of enemy air defense operations in the special military zone in Ukraine. As a result of these operations, Kyiv's forces have lost dozens of air defense systems.
According to AVP, Russian air defense systems are also focusing on "hunting" Ukrainian Su-24s. Ukrainian Su-24 fighter jets are increasingly attracting the attention of the Russian military due to their ability to carry Storm Shadow and SCALP cruise missiles, which can inflict significant damage.
Military expert Vasily Dandykin emphasized the importance of this military aircraft to Ukraine, while also pointing out its adaptability to Western air-to-ground missiles. The Su-24, a Soviet-designed bomber, still plays a crucial role in the Ukrainian Armed Forces' arsenal due to its ability to carry a wide variety of bombs and missiles.
In the context of the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine, attention to this type of aircraft is increasing due to its active use in launching missiles into Russian territory. It is known that Russian forces recently attacked Martynovka airfield in the Nikolaev region of Ukraine and destroyed two Su-24 fighter jets that had participated in the attack on Sevastopol.
