This morning, August 24th, the People's Committee of Dien Ban town held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Northern Ring Road project in Quang Nam province. Attending the ceremony were former Provincial Party Secretary Phan Viet Cuong and other members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ha, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Ban town, the overall northern ring road of Quang Nam province is planned to have a length of approximately 18.7km; of which the section through Da Nang city is 1.2km long, and the section through Quang Nam province is 17.5km long.

The road under construction will provide seamless traffic connectivity from National Highway 14B to Lac Long Quan Street (Dien Ban town), contributing to the completion of the East-West transportation axis within the economic -urban corridor, connecting the Nam Giang Border Gate Economic Zone with Da Nang City and the northern coastal area of ​​Quang Nam.

Simultaneously, the plan aims to renovate and create land reserves for the development of urban space in the northern part of Quang Nam province, redistribute the population, and form new urban areas in the north, reducing population density in the central area of ​​the town; promote socio-economic development in the western part of Dien Ban; meet future transportation needs and minimize traffic congestion on the DT609 route and the southern ring road of Da Nang city.

In recent years, Da Nang City and Quang Nam Province have promoted investment and put into operation important projects such as the Vo Chi Cong coastal road, the Dien Nam - Dien Ngoc industrial and urban area, the Hoi An city planning, the main street axis DT603 - DT607, the Cua Dai bridge, the southern ring road of Da Nang City, etc.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Nam Hung said that the construction of the road is part of the strategy and plan to implement the Resolution of the 22nd Provincial Party Congress, and also reflects the vision and direction of the province. Therefore, the implementation process has been carried out very decisively by all levels and sectors.

“Besides facilitating trade and travel for the people, the more important thing is to create new impetus and resources for socio-economic development in localities from the west to the east, and between Quang Nam province and Da Nang city. It also demonstrates the close fraternal relationship between Quang Nam province and Da Nang city,” said Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Nam Hung.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Nam Hung requested the Dien Ban Town People's Committee to study spatial planning and create land reserves on both sides of the road to guide the development of industries, trade and services, urban areas, etc., promoting local economic development and contributing to creating new momentum for the development of the northern region of Quang Nam province in the coming years.

The Northern Ring Road Project in Quang Nam province received investment approval from the Provincial People's Council in Resolutions No. 23 dated April 19, 2021 and No. 55 dated July 22, 2021; the Provincial People's Committee approved the project in Decision No. 1312 dated May 16, 2022 and approved adjustments and additions in Decision No. 1960 dated September 18, 2023.

The total investment for the project is 498 billion VND, of which 398 billion VND comes from the central government budget and 100 billion VND from the provincial budget. The construction period is 770 days, with the goal of completion in the fourth quarter of 2025.
