Construction of phase 2 of Dong Dang-Tra Linh expressway project started

On the morning of August 19, in Quang Uyen commune, Cao Bang province, the People's Committee of Cao Bang province and the People's Committee of Lang Son province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Dong Dang-Tra Linh expressway project, phase 2, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day, September 2.

The Dong Dang-Tra Linh expressway project has a total length of 121km, with a total investment of nearly 23,000 billion VND.

The starting point of the route is at the intersection of Tan Thanh border gate area (Lang Son province), connecting to the section connecting Huu Nghi-Chi Lang expressway with Tan Thanh border gate and Coc Nam border gate in Lang Son province. The end point is at the intersection of the road to Tra Linh border gate economic zone (Cao Bang province).

When completed, the Dong Dang-Tra Linh project will connect with the two Huu Nghi-Chi Lang and Bac Giang -Lang Son expressway projects to form a highway axis connecting trade of goods from Vietnam to China, Europe and vice versa.

Phase 1 of the project started on January 1, 2024, with a length of more than 93km.

To ensure the goal of completing phase 1 in 2025, contractors have mobilized 3,229 personnel, 1,456 machines and equipment, and 287 construction teams.

Up to now, output has reached 3,980/10,600 billion VND (38% of contract value), equivalent to 60% of output in 2025.

In phase 2 of the project, contractors will expand the entire 93km of phase 1, and invest in a further 26km connecting to Tra Linh international border gate, with a scale of 4 lanes.

Total investment in phase 2 is more than 12 trillion VND, of which state budget capital is 8,400 billion (69.58%).

Phase 2 of the project is implemented under the PPP method, BOT contract by a consortium including Deo Ca Group Joint Stock Company, 568 Construction Investment Group Joint Stock Company, Hoang Long Construction Investment Corporation - Joint Stock Company, DCT 559 Investment Joint Stock Company, Tan Thanh Joint Stock Company.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ho Minh Hoang, Chairman of Deo Ca Group, shared that the project's phase 2 being implemented in parallel while phase 1 is entering the completion stage is a correct decision, helping to maximize the investor's capacity, promote the efficiency of human resources and equipment, avoid waste, and optimize the operational efficiency of the entire route.

Investors are committed to promoting a sense of responsibility and determination, completing the project on schedule, and soon promoting project effectiveness.

Comrade Quan Minh Cuong, Secretary of Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, spoke at the ceremony.

With sincere thanks to the families in the project area who have been creating favorable conditions for the clearance and handover of the project construction site, Comrade Quan Minh Cuong, Secretary of Cao Bang Provincial Party Committee, requested that the entire political system and people of all ethnic groups in Cao Bang province, investors and construction units be determined and make efforts to overcome all difficulties in project construction, soon complete and put the project into operation.

The Project Steering Committee and the People's Committee of Cao Bang province focused on solving difficulties and continuing to speed up site clearance and resettlement for people.

The investor and the construction unit complete the optimal design documents, organize effective construction measures, and manage the project closely and professionally to ensure that when completed, the project will be a beautiful road, fully meeting the requirements of standards and technical regulations.
