Arousing national pride

Before that, people all over the country followed and updated information related to this parade with all eagerness and anticipation. A veteran shared that the atmosphere of training to prepare for the 50th anniversary of the complete Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country reminded him of his heroic youth. Memories of the days marching with the army to Saigon kept surging in him. Many of his comrades shared the same feeling. Some did not mind the long distance and poor health to be present in Ho Chi Minh City to participate and watch the preliminary and final rehearsals.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union launched a nationwide campaign with the theme “Peace is beautiful” to convey these great values into concrete, close and practical emotions and actions in daily life. The campaign “Red covering social networks” was enthusiastically responded to by cadres, union members, youth and people nationwide.

People simultaneously changed their profile pictures, cover photos, and posted content, images, and videos. This activity expressed love for the homeland, the country, national pride, and the joyful atmosphere to celebrate the anniversary of the complete liberation of the South, the reunification of the country, associated with the national flag. According to the Central Youth Union, on the TikTok platform alone, as of April 24, the hashtag #hoabinhdeplam had reached 111.5 million views.

In Quang Tri, the atmosphere to celebrate this meaningful event is equally bustling. These days, anyone who crosses the Hien Luong bridge connecting the Ben Hai river is moved with emotion. The April sky is endlessly blue. Standing out against the blue of the sky and earth, the red flag with a yellow star proudly flutters on the Hien Luong flagpole as if it had never been stained with the color of division. Not only tourists from near and far but also many Quang Tri people want to set foot here during these historic April days.

They came to take a souvenir photo, to admire the peaceful scenery of the countryside along the river banks 50 years after peace was restored, to deeply feel the value of today's peace that had to be exchanged for the blood and tears of yesterday.

Only at times like these can we fully appreciate the value of the two words “patriotism”, the meaning of national spirit and the integrity of the country. The atmosphere of pride and patriotism has been spreading in the veins of all Vietnamese people in recent days. Across forums and social networking sites, the bright red flag is everywhere.

Joy and pride seemed to shine in the faces of the soldiers performing the parade and marching duties, and in each story and the eyes of the people following this meaningful event. The image of each group of soldiers passing by, being welcomed and cheered by the people; foreign tourists wearing red flags with yellow stars blending into the sea of people present at the rehearsal program made us feel proud and moved.

Therefore, public opinion condemns when some people make inappropriate statements when it affects traffic participation or daily activities related to the organization of the parade and parade. They are even more reprehensible when they are singers and MCs - people who, with their influence, should be responsible for spreading the beautiful value of this event to the public.

As for hostile forces, with the aim of dividing the national unity bloc, many subjects have written articles distorting and slandering our regime; spreading rumors about the waste of money for this event, claiming that funds should be spent on investing in public works, helping the poor rather than organizing parades and marches. Besides, some arguments also deliberately stereotype, claiming that history learned and memorized in books is enough, there is no need to organize elaborate celebrations...

However, historical values cannot be distorted and national pride in any era deserves to be honored. The trend of expressing patriotism of Vietnamese people across the country on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification has shown that.

With the strong influence and influence of the celebration, the people in the country, international friends and especially the young generation have the opportunity to understand more deeply about the heroic history of the nation, arouse pride, create connection and solidarity among the people. The solemn atmosphere of the celebration, the liveliness and strength of the parade, the march and many beautiful stories surrounding it have spread the flame of patriotism to all regions.

This is much more valuable and meaningful than the lessons in books. More importantly, this event shows the solidarity of the Vietnamese people in fighting against foreign invaders, repelling evil and fighting against distorted arguments, taking advantage of political events to defame the regime, denying the values of history.

Despite the distorted arguments, the event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the complete Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country once again aroused patriotism and national pride, creating strength to preserve the sacred values in the heroic history of the nation.

Through this event, everyone should contribute to spreading the message of patriotism, the joyful and excited atmosphere of the entire people. Thereby spreading inspiration and encouraging people to participate in contributing to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland and smashing the plot of the hostile forces to divide the great national unity bloc.
