Prosecution initiated against individual who borrowed a vehicle and then pawned it.

On May 18th, the Ba Chúc Commune Police announced that the An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency had served a decision to initiate a criminal case, indict the suspect, and enforce a travel ban against Nguyen Tuan Khanh (born in 2000, residing in Vinh Thuan Hamlet, Vinh Hanh Commune) to investigate the act of abusing trust to misappropriate property.

Previously, due to his acquaintance with Ms. PTTL (residing in Ba Chúc commune), on November 25, 2025, Khanh asked to borrow her motorbike and promised to return it two days later. However, after borrowing the motorbike, Khanh took it to a pawn shop and pawned it for 40 million VND to spend on personal expenses and pay off debts.

When the deadline for returning the car arrived, Khanh repeatedly evaded the issue, giving false excuses to prolong the process. Later, Khanh admitted to pawning the car and being unable to redeem it to return to Ms. L. On January 11, 2026, Ms. L reported the incident to the police.

At the police station, Khanh admitted to the violation and urged his family to redeem the vehicle and return it to the victim.

Currently, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency is continuing to investigate and handle the case in accordance with the law.
