At noon on June 7, a representative of Thuan An City Police ( Binh Duong ) said that the unit had decided to prosecute the case and detain Vu Tuan Anh (30 years old, residing in Thuan An City) to investigate the serious traffic accident that occurred in the area yesterday afternoon (June 6).
Vu Tuan Anh was the driver of the car with license plate 61A-904.76 that caused the accident. Test results showed that Vu Tuan Anh had alcohol in his breath, at 0.748 mg/liter of breath. Drug test results were negative.
Previously, at around 4:30 p.m. on June 6, Vu Tuan Anh drove a car on DT743C road, from Ong Bo bridge to the 550 intersection. When he reached Cuu Long intersection (Dong An 3 Hamlet, Binh Hoa Ward, Thuan An City), he hit 5 motorbikes waiting at the red light ahead.

After hitting 5 motorbikes, Vu Tuan Anh continued to drive forward, hitting a truck parked on the side of the road. Not stopping, the "crazy car" continued to rush forward, hitting 2 motorbikes going in the same direction. After pushing the series of motorbikes, the "crazy car" drove onto the sidewalk, hitting another car parked on the sidewalk.
At the time of the accident, many motorcyclists were thrown onto the road. One person was thrown onto the front of the car and dragged a distance. Three victims were taken to the emergency room immediately afterwards.
Cho Ray Hospital (HCMC) confirmed that one of the three victims was brain dead and in critical condition. The remaining two, one had a broken arm and the other had minor injuries.
