Kick-off of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament

On the afternoon of September 16, the press conference and draw for the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament officially took place at the Majestic Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City. This year's tournament brings together 40 participating teams with a total prize of up to 900 million VND. Of which, the national final champion team receives 200 million VND.

The 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is jointly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Tuoi Tre Newspaper. This is the third consecutive year that this meaningful tournament has taken place nationwide.

The Organizing Committee representative introduced the uniforms, trophy and ball of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament.

Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Tran Xuan Toan - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament said that the biggest goal of the Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is to create a physical and mental playground for workers, thereby contributing to improving productivity and work quality, creating a driving force for sustainable socio -economic development.

After 2 years of implementation, the tournament has made an important contribution to the development of the community sports movement. Therefore, the tournament has received enthusiastic support from the leaders of provincial trade unions, enterprises and especially the direct participants of the tournament, which are workers and laborers nationwide.

"Entering its third year of organization, the tournament has affirmed its position as an annual, prestigious playground for workers, civil servants and laborers across the country. It is a familiar meeting place for football lovers - a place to demonstrate talent, exchange and learn, and strengthen solidarity within the Vietnamese labor community." - Mr. Tran Xuan Toan emphasized.

At the press conference, the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament announced details of the time, location, competition format, competition rules, and list of participating teams nationwide. The Organizing Committee also drew lots to divide the groups and announced the official match schedule for all matches.

Accordingly, the tournament is organized in the format of 7-a-side football, according to the competition rules issued by VFF. The tournament is implemented under the system of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on a national scale, gathering nearly 40 participating teams (24 teams in the south, 16 teams in the north) - representing the Trade Unions of provinces/cities, Trade Unions of industries and enterprises across the country.

According to the regulations of the organizing committee, the subjects participating in the competition are male workers, civil servants, and laborers of Vietnamese nationality, working in agencies, units, and enterprises of all economic sectors with trade unions; having labor contracts and participating in social insurance and health insurance continuously for 1 year or more up to the time of registration to participate in the competition; having a smartphone with the VssID application of Vietnam Social Security installed and having a personal identification account on the VneID application of the Ministry of Public Security.

The 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament will go through 2 stages: The qualifying round in the Northern region (Hanoi) takes place from September 26 - 28, 2025 and the Southern region (Ho Chi Minh City) takes place from October 9 - 12, 2025. The national final round takes place in Ho Chi Minh City from October 24 - 26, 2025 at Ton Duc Thang University and People's Police University.

According to the Organizing Committee, the total prize of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament is up to 900 million VND. Of which, the national final champion team will receive 200 million VND (an increase of 50 million VND compared to the 2024 season).

In addition to football competitions, in the qualifying and final round competition areas, there are also free examination and consultation activities on sports medicine and musculoskeletal diseases; discount booths, minigames to receive gifts; "Love Bus" activities to support health examination and consultation, and free medicine distribution for workers in the export processing zone.

Sharing at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Kien - Deputy Head of Labor Relations Department - Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee - emphasized the important political and social significance of the 2025 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament.

According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Kien, the tournament has created a "prestigious, national-scale" playground exclusively for workers and laborers. A place for workers and civil servants to exercise, improve their cultural and spiritual life after working hours at the office and factory. In addition, through the tournament, it also contributes to the development of grassroots football and the consolidation of professional football in Vietnam.

It is known that in 2024, the Vietnamese workers' and civil servants' football tournament made a strong impression, attracting a large number of workers in many industries, and improving their professional quality thanks to thorough investment. In particular, the tournament also spread humanistic values ​​when it raised 2.1 billion VND to support workers affected by storm No. 3, gave 40 houses and supported 581 difficult cases.
