The Bundesliga Dream Vietnam 2.0 project is a highly practical program, creating conditions for the Vietnamese U17 women's team to train at leading football centers in Germany, preparing for the journey to conquer the final round of the 2026 Asian U17 Women's Championship.

During the period from September 10 to 21, 2025, the national U17 women's team had a meaningful training trip in Germany. Here, young players received intensive training and competed at two famous clubs, Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen - which owns a modern training system and the world's leading youth player development process.

In addition, the team also had the opportunity to experience the vibrant atmosphere of the Bundesliga when watching the match between Werder Bremen and SC Freiburg.

Mr. Nguyen Van Phu, General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation, affirmed that the training trip to Germany is proof of the long-term commitment to the strategy of developing youth football, especially women's football.

“The Vietnam Football Federation highly values the cooperation relationship with Bundesliga – one of the world’s leading leagues. The continued signing of the MoU and the implementation of the training program in Germany clearly demonstrates our priority orientation in creating a solid foundation for the next generation.

Through this cooperation program, players, coaches and professional staff will have access to an advanced training environment, gradually improving quality and aspirations to reach international standards," said Mr. Nguyen Van Phu.

Bundesliga Dream Vietnam 2.0 is an upgraded version of the project launched in 2022, with the vision of supporting Asian countries to develop youth football. Currently, this project is also being implemented in parallel in many countries such as Korea, Thailand, India and China.

Mr. Peer Naubert - CEO of Bundesliga International highly appreciates the potential of Vietnamese football, especially when witnessing the constant growth of Bundesliga fans in Vietnam.

“We are delighted that Bundesliga Dream has expanded to women’s football, contributing to the development of this sport in Vietnam. We wish the Vietnam U17 women’s team success in the upcoming Asian U17 Women’s Championship Qualifiers, and hope that they will demonstrate their spirit and talent in a world-class arena,” said Mr. Peer Naubert.

It is known that in February this year, the Vietnam Football Federation and DFL (Deutsche Fußball Liga) agreed to extend the Cooperation Agreement for another three years, until 2028.

The cooperation does not only stop at technical support, player and coach training, but also extends to the fields of sports medicine, training science , fitness and expertise. This is the foundation for Vietnamese football to build a more sustainable, professional and synchronous development ecosystem.

Bundesliga, with its tradition of training and using many Asian players over the past two decades, continues to affirm its role as a friendly "home" for talents from the region.

Bundesliga is currently the top European league with the largest number of Asian players, demonstrating confidence in the quality and tactical thinking of players from the world's most populous continent.
