On the evening of June 2, the audience was truly satisfied with the competition between the Finnish and Vietnamese fireworks teams at the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2023. But they were also amazed by the extremely brilliant color changes on the art stage of the opening night.
After 3 years of interruption due to the pandemic, DIFF 2023 has truly returned and ignited the vitality of the Han River city. As Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Yen - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City said: "This is truly a great effort of the city. At the same time, the companionship and support of businesses, includingSun Group , also contributed significantly to helping Da Nang be able to implement DIFF 2023".
It is impossible to describe the joy of the people and tourists when coming to the city of Han River during the fireworks season. In addition to the 5,000-seat grandstand packed with spectators, the areas around the Han River, from the afternoon of June 2, people and tourists gathered to choose for themselves a beautiful position to watch the play of light in the night sky of the Han River.
However, the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival is not just about fireworks. Along with the fireworks displays that paint the sky of Da Nang by the competing teams, there are high-class art performances, performed on a sparkling stage on the banks of the Han River.
This year, with an area of over 1,000 m2 , located on the East bank of the Han River - the riverside campus of Tran Hung Dao Street (Son Tra District), the DIFF stage is the first impressive point that the Organizing Committee has for visitors.
According to the disclosure, in addition to the special design with one part on the shore and one part extending out to the river, the stage also has a lifting light frame and modern LED laser effect technology, which can be raised and lowered at an angle of 87 degrees, to provide the best views covering the entire fireworks area.
The focal point of the stage is the image of a positioning seal, conveying the message that Da Nang is a global convergence point, igniting the vitality and spirit of solidarity of 5 continents, overcoming difficulties and challenges after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The streaks of light extending out on both sides of the stage have a contemporary aesthetic, depicting the bright fireworks streaks in the sky, also symbolizing the 5 lines on the music staff.
In addition, the DIFF 2023 stage also integrates a magnificent water music scene as a background, combined with the sparkling Han River behind, creating a special visual effect for the audience watching on-site as well as via live television.
The sparkling stage helped the artists to shine and flourish. Singers Tung Duong and Lam Bao Ngoc and the dance troupe excited the audience with an international song and dance performance in “What a Wonderful World”.
Lam Bao Ngoc brought a 40-member choir onto the stage for the performance of "I dreamed a dream" - one of the most classic musicals of all time, to share the dream of world peace .
Folk melodies performed by artists from Trung Vuong Theater praise the homeland and people of Da Nang, adding depth to the musical space of the DIFF opening night.
The opening night was heated up when singer Ho Ngoc Ha appeared with artists from the Ba Na Hills dance troupe with the hit song “Because it is you” stirring up the event space with more than 5,000 live audiences.
From the stage, music to the artistic elements of the opening night, all highlighted the main theme of this year's DIFF Festival, "A World Without Distance", leading the audience through each range of emotions and towards the story of solidarity, peace, optimism, and hope for prosperity after the difficulties of the pandemic.
Performances that showcase the friendship and culture of the participating countries have become a feature of DIFF in recent seasons. This year, the Polka dance - a traditional Finnish folk dance - was performed on the opening night, with its strong and rhythmic movements, accompanied by cheerful music, demonstrating the vibrant and enthusiastic character of the Finnish people and the richness of their culture. Immediately following was the performance by the DIFF 2019 champion team Finland, which was highly anticipated by many visitors.
Quang Anh, a tourist from Hanoi, was moved when he saw Da Nang fireworks from the stands for the first time. He shared: “I didn’t think I would feel so satisfied. From the stage, the performances to the fireworks. The sound, the artistic lighting, the fireworks seemed to be falling down and I could reach out and touch them, it was magical. Up until now, I have only seen it on the small screen and found it beautiful, but truly, there is no feeling like watching it live."
The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival will last until July 8, 2023, promising to bring countless new surprises to locals and tourists.
