Vietnam women's volleyball team plays impressively
In the starting lineup, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet surprisingly tested the main striker Nguyen Thi Uyen to play in the opposite position left by Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen instead of Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh. The remaining faces on the field to play against the Kenyan team include Tran Thi Thanh Thuy, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh, Nguyen Thi Trinh, Doan Thi Lam Oanh, Nguyen Khanh Dang.

The Kenyan players, with their physical advantages and strength, created a tight match with the Vietnamese women's volleyball team. Nguyen Thi Uyen could not compete with Bich Tuyen, but she also played with great effort and confidence. Thanh Thuy and Nhu Quynh's attacks also worked quite effectively. It is also necessary to see that the attacking pressure created by the Kenyan team was not too overwhelming, thanks to which the Vietnamese team kept the first step and launched a good attack, thereby winning 25/21 in game 1.
The real setter Hoang Thi Kieu Trinh entered the field in game 2 alongside other faces such as Pham Thi Hien, Tran Thi Bich Thuy, and setter Kim Thoa was also used. These factors helped the home team play "more intelligently" and win quite easily 25/14. This was the game where Bich Thuy effectively demonstrated her ability to hit quickly and block.
There were continued changes in game 3 but the Vietnamese team still maintained the game, winning convincingly 25/19 against their opponents. After losing all 3 games, the Kenyan coach wanted to play game 4 but could not improve the playing style and lost 19/25, thereby losing 0-4 overall.
At the 2025 World Volleyball Championship (from August 22 to September 7), the Vietnamese women's volleyball team is in Group G with Poland (ranked 3rd in the world), Germany (ranked 11th in the world) and Kenya (ranked 23rd in the world). According to the schedule, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will open against Poland (August 23), then meet Germany (August 25), Kenya (August 27). With what happened in the friendly match, the opportunity for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team to seek victory against the Kenyan team is positive.
