No more watching YouTube ads with this feature.

YouTube has just launched a feature that automatically reduces ads during livestreams when engagement peaks, while also expanding monetization tools for creators.

In a blog post, YouTube stated that its system can now detect when interaction in livestream chat peaks and automatically pause ads for all viewers.

"To enhance the overall atmosphere, our system recognizes when Live Chat interaction is at its peak and automatically removes ads for everyone," said Barbara Macdonald, YouTube Live Product Manager.

This marks the first time YouTube has created an ad-free experience without requiring a paid subscription. Until now, the most popular way to avoid ads has been YouTube Premium, a service that includes ad-free viewing, offline video downloads, and music playback with the screen off. However, this service has recently seen a significant price increase, with the individual plan rising to $16 per month and the family plan to $27 per month.

In addition to interactive chat, viewers can also access ad-free content by purchasing Super Chat, Super Stickers, or other digital gifts to support the creators.

"To ensure that moment isn't interrupted, we'll be rolling out an update that automatically creates a personalized, ad-free window immediately after they make a purchase," Macdonald added.

This new feature is part of YouTube's broader strategy to make livestreaming more engaging and beneficial for content creators.

YouTube allows viewers to send gifts to all livestreams from their phones. The gift-sending feature has also been expanded to more countries, including Canada, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, and Australia, with plans to add gifts related to local festivals and events.

The platform will also allow creators to simultaneously broadcast in both portrait and landscape formats, along with a shared chat feature for both streams. YouTube revealed that they are about to launch additional customization tools, including a vertical crop layout, allowing creators to send two separate and customizable feeds for both broadcast formats.
