MR. KIM'S NEW OFFENSIVE LINE
The Vietnamese team has said goodbye to Cong Phuong when this player suffered a foot injury, and at the same time added young talent Nguyen Quoc Viet from the U.22 Vietnam team. This means that coach Kim Sang-sik will look forward to the match for the top spot in Group F of the 3rd qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup with Malaysia without a series of pillars such as Xuan Son, Vi Hao, Van Toan, Cong Phuong. The absence of the above experienced players forced Mr. Kim to consider renewing the attack. Tien Linh has recovered from an adductor injury and is practicing well, which will be the premise for the attacking trio. The key will be the competition on the two wings, where the team has Van Khang, Tuan Hai, Hai Long, Ngoc Quang and the surprising new name Van Vi.
Hai Long is asserting his role as a striker on both the left and right flanks thanks to his impressive performance at the AFF Cup 2024 and most recently the friendly match between the Southeast Asian star team and MU Club. On the right flank, he will compete with Ngoc Quang and to some extent Quang Hai. On the opposite wing, Tuan Hai and Van Khang will be familiar candidates, with a formidable challenge from Van Vi. In this training session, Van Vi is a very notable name when he is playing explosively for Nam Dinh Club since being assigned to play on the left side of the attack by coach Vu Hong Viet. In the Vietnam national team, Van Vi is scoring impressive points in the eyes of coach Kim Sang-sik. It will not be surprising if he appears on the attack line during the away match at the "fire pan" Bukit Jalil of Malaysia on June 10.

DISTANCE BONUS POINTS
The Vietnamese team is leading Group F thanks to a better goal difference than Malaysia, while there is still a return match at home next year, so 1 point at Bukit Jalil is a goal that can satisfy coach Kim Sang-sik and his team. One thing is certain, coach Cklamovski has just added a series of naturalized players and will want the Malaysian team to push up the squad, taking advantage of the home field to pressure and seek victory. Therefore, the ability to defend from a distance of the players on the attack line will greatly affect the calculations of the Korean coach. In particular, Van Vi, who is a defender, will be a very notable option for the front line.
Hai Long (middle) scored for the Vietnamese team in the victory over U.22 on the afternoon of June 4.
Commentator Vu Quang Huy commented: "Van Vi is a unique viable option on the left wing of the attack, if coach Kim Sang-sik is confident in Quang Vinh in the wing-back position. However, I think that if Van Vi plays, he will not completely hang in the left forward role but will play "floating". He does not stick to the wing but when given the opportunity, he will go inside to promote his mobility. Van Khang tends to play more open, while Tuan Hai has the habit of moving back into the middle. Compared to these two, if Van Vi plays wide, it will create flexibility between defense and attack.
Meanwhile, on the right wing, Hai Long and Ngoc Quang will be two suitable options. If Van Vi is on the field to better counter the opponent's attacking intentions, it will open up space for Hai Long and Ngoc Quang on the opposite wing to promote their strengths when attacking. Of course, coach Kim Sang-sik will need to evaluate many factors to decide on the starting lineup and approach to the match. But the prospect of Van Vi and Hai Long starting together is possible, and if that happens, the Vietnamese team will debut a unique new attack, with enough flexibility, intensity of competition as well as explosion in the upcoming Bukit Jalil fire pan."
In the internal match on the afternoon of June 4, the Vietnamese team won the U.22 team with a score of 2-1 thanks to goals from Duy Manh and Hai Long.
VTV AND FPT OWN THE BROADCASTING RIGHTS FOR 6 MATCHES OF THE VIETNAM TEAM
On June 4, Vietnam Television (VTV) announced that it owns the broadcasting rights in Vietnam for the match between Malaysia and Vietnam on June 10 in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers (broadcast on VTV5, VTV Can Tho and VTVgo application). The copyright for Vietnam's two away matches in this tournament also belongs to VTV (against Nepal on October 14, against Laos on November 18). Meanwhile, FPT owns the broadcasting rights for Vietnam's three home matches in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, including the match against Laos on March 25 (already played), against Nepal on October 9, and against Malaysia on March 31, 2026.
