The city's Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions works with Dong Giang and Ben Hien communes.

DNO - On the morning of August 20, a delegation from the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Da Nang city worked with the People's Committees of Dong Giang and Ben Hien communes on the implementation of ethnic and religious policies and the disbursement of the National Target Program (NTP) for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Dong Giang commune was merged from Prao town and 3 communes Ta Lu, A Rooi and Za Hung of Dong Giang district (old); the locality has nearly 9,000 people, of which over 81% are ethnic minorities. The poverty rate currently accounts for over 31%.

In recent times, the locality has made great efforts in disbursing the National Target Program for Socio -Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas. The total capital allocated for implementation in 2025 in the commune is more than 28.5 billion VND. As of the end of June 2025, the disbursement rate was about 37%.

For Ben Hien commune, in 2025, the locality will receive programs and projects from two old communes, Ka Dang and Ma Cooih, with a total capital of more than 19.5 billion VND. By June 2025, the locality has disbursed more than 41% of capital. The projects being implemented focus on afforestation and community production development such as: A Rieu chili growing model, raising black pigs, yellow cows, spotted deer, etc.

Ben Hien Commune proposed a capital plan for the 2026-2030 period with a need of more than VND255 billion. Local leaders proposed expanding the beneficiaries, especially households that have just escaped poverty; proposed supporting the development of high-tech agricultural models and community tourism associated with cultural preservation.

Concluding the meeting, Director of the City Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nguyen Manh Ha acknowledged the efforts of the two communes in implementing ethnic and religious policies and the National Target Program on socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

At the same time, the two localities are requested to continue to promote the spirit of initiative, promptly remove difficulties, and improve the efficiency of capital use. In particular, focusing on propaganda and mobilization work to link economic development with cultural preservation and ensuring social security.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Ha said that the city's Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions will synthesize recommendations from localities to advise the city and the Central Government on appropriate solutions, creating a driving force for sustainable development for ethnic minority and mountainous areas.
