These lessons not only help students gain more knowledge about local history and culture, but also awaken and ignite love for the homeland in every young person.
Lively lessons
In early October, more than 60 5th grade teachers and students of Tran Van On Primary School visited the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture for the first time to participate in an extracurricular educational program called " Discover with me".
For the first time seeing hundreds and thousands of years old statues and artifacts with their own eyes, and listening to the tour guide introduce the world of gods in Champa culture, the students were excited, delighted, and enthusiastically spoke and answered questions.
Pham Hoang Bao Nhi, a student at Tran Van On Primary School, expressed her excitement when visiting the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture.
“Coming here, we were introduced to a lot of new knowledge and participated in fun games. Everyone was very happy and looked forward to coming back to study and explore more,” Bao Nhi shared.
That is also the common feeling of all students participating in the extracurricular education program at the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture. It can be said that through the program, they not only touch the past, but also experience and absorb cultural values through their own senses and emotions.
Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Huong, homeroom teacher of class 5/7, Tran Van On Primary School, said that the school regularly organizes experiential activities to relics and museums so that students can gain more knowledge of local history and cultural heritage.
"During the visit and experience at the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture, the students not only had interesting discoveries, but also accumulated a lot of useful knowledge about the culture and history of the city. Hopefully, there will be more similar experiential learning activities, helping students discover, develop their thinking and nurture their awareness of preserving and promoting the value of Da Nang's cultural heritage," Ms. Huong expressed.

Meanwhile, at the Da Nang Museum, hundreds of groups of visitors come every day. Of these, about 50% are students who come to learn about history and participate in the museum's educational programs.
Nguyen Thanh Thao, a student at Hoang Van Thu Primary School, shared that coming to the museum, she learned many useful things about the culture and history of Da Nang, and understood more about patriotism and the sacrifices of our ancestors for national independence and peace.
“After this trip, I will tell my family, relatives and friends so that everyone can visit the Da Nang Museum, understand and appreciate more the historical value and the contributions of those who came before to build our homeland,” Thao said.
Innovate to attract

The common point in museums today is to constantly innovate educational methods, bringing history and cultural heritage closer and more vividly into life. Instead of just monotonous explanations, the programs are designed to be diverse, increasing the experience, encouraging students to participate directly.
At the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture, the educational program for students in the 2025-2026 school year is organized according to the motto "Learn while playing, play while learning", harmoniously combining sightseeing, listening to explanations with practical activities, experiences, and supplementary games...

The themes and itineraries of activities and programs are built to suit the age and grade level, aiming to improve educational effectiveness and contribute to building the habit and culture of visiting and learning at museums for the young generation.
Meanwhile, the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum (under the Da Nang Museum) aims to organize educational activities that focus on interaction and practical experiences such as: rubber engraving, graphic printing; watercolor painting techniques; participating in creative activities of handicrafts, school supplies, etc.
Similarly, Da Nang Museum focuses on building cultural and artistic experience workshops to help children develop their thinking, practice soft skills, and contribute to improving the effectiveness of out-of-school education.
According to Director of Da Nang Museum Huynh Dinh Quoc Thien, educating students at museums and relics in an experiential manner not only fosters historical and cultural knowledge, but also fosters national pride, trains soft skills and stimulates creativity.
At Da Nang Museum, most of the educational topics are linked between local history education at all levels and the museum's exhibition content, meeting the students' practical learning needs.
This lively and open learning method helps students become more interested in local and national historical knowledge, arouses their love and passion for learning history, as well as fosters patriotism and national pride in the young generation.
