According to Circular No. 63/2023/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance , amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular No. 25/2021/TT-BTC, from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025, Vietnamese citizens applying for ordinary passports (including electronic chip and non-chip passports) online will receive a 10% reduction in fees.
Specifically, the fee for making a passport online is applied as follows: new issuance is 180,000 VND/time and re-issuance due to damage or loss is 360,000 VND/time.
The policy of reducing fees by 10% aims to encourage people to use online public services, helping to save time, costs and reduce pressure on immigration management agencies.
After December 31, 2025, this preferential policy will end and the online passport fee will return to the original regulations. Specifically, the fee is VND 200,000/time for new issuance and VND 400,000/time for re-issuance, according to Circular 25/2021/TT-BTC.
