Ly Tu Trong Pedagogical Practice Secondary School trains on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in life.

On October 5, a training session on the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in daily life was held at the Long Nang Community Library (Ngoc Linh Commune, Quang Ngai Province), attracting a large number of people to participate. This is a practical activity, concretizing the Prime Minister's National Digital Transformation Strategy, which emphasizes the principle of "no one is left behind".

The training location is the Long Nang Village Community Library, a project donated by Ly Tu Trong Pedagogical Practice Secondary School (THSP) in 2024. Not only a place to read books, this is also a common "home of knowledge" for the people, a place to nurture a reading culture, a spirit of learning and a desire to advance with knowledge.

In the past, the lives of Long Nang people were closely linked to farming, with little opportunity to access technology. Books, newspapers, and information about production, health , law, etc. were almost out of reach. The birth of the community library was like lighting a small lamp in the middle of the mountains, bringing the world closer to the people through each page of a book and each click of the mouse.

With a system of laptops, tablets, desktop computers and a stable internet connection, the library allows people to access the digital library, learn Vietnamese, learn a trade, look up crops, weather, and farming and livestock techniques. From being unfamiliar, people now know how to search for information, ask “AI” about how to take care of coffee plants, common diseases in livestock or even look up support policies from the State.

That is the first step to reduce information poverty, when knowledge is no longer the privilege of city dwellers, but everyone can access it if properly guided.

According to Mr. Pham Duc Phuoc - Principal of Ly Tu Trong Secondary School, the program is designed to be friendly, "hands-on", helping people to understand and remember easily.

“We start with the most familiar things: What is AI? How can we use AI to find information on livestock and farming, and calculate crop seasons? How can students learn math, practice English, and chat with AI?”, Mr. Phuoc shared.

During the training session, teachers and students of the school directly guided each operation such as turning on the machine, accessing the Internet, typing questions, and evaluating information. The atmosphere was bustling when the highland farmers talked to “artificial intelligence” for the first time, eagerly listening to the answers displayed on the screen.

Training "technology core", spreading digital knowledge

People are enthusiastic about learning and experiencing AI.

Not stopping at a training session, the program aims to train local "technology cores", young people and students who know how to use AI and the Internet to continue to guide people to learn together.

“Those who know a lot help those who know little – those who know little help those who don’t know much,” said Mr. Phuoc, adding that the school wants to form a habit of proactive learning, so that technological knowledge can spread naturally, like the way villagers help each other with farming.

This “from the community, for the community” approach not only imparts skills, but also instills confidence in knowledge. When people know how to look up, compare and apply information, they will be more confident in production, access markets, improve productivity and reduce dependence on word of mouth.

Ms. Y Thoang, a resident of Long Nang village, is very happy to have access to more knowledge about life and production to develop the family economy through AI. In the coming time, she will proactively learn and improve more to support those who do not know yet, to help the lives of people here develop more and more.

Mr. Pham Duc Phuoc donated a laptop and 3 tablets to the Long Nang Village Community Library.

On this occasion, Ly Tu Trong School also donated 1 laptop and 3 tablets worth 30 million VND, adding to the library's equipment system.

From the Long Nang community library model, Ly Tu Trong School hopes to form a chain of digital learning libraries in the highland villages and communes of Quang Ngai, connecting knowledge to the people. When people know how to find accurate information, know how to use AI to learn a profession, learn life skills, the development gap between advantaged and disadvantaged areas will gradually narrow.

“Technology is only truly meaningful when it serves people. Reducing information poverty is also a way to reduce poverty sustainably, because knowledge is an asset that no one can take away,” Mr. Phuoc emphasized.

Also on this occasion, students of Ly Tu Trong School organized the program “Mid-Autumn Festival of Love” for children in Long Nang village. Simple gifts including candies and school supplies were prepared with all the heart of the team members, sending joy and warmth to share with children in the highlands during the August moon season.
