At the regular press conference for the third quarter on October 6, Ms. Chau Hoai Thu, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Quang Ninh province, said that the entire industry plans to merge, reducing about 50% of educational institutions.
Currently, the province has 637 facilities including kindergartens, primary schools, junior high schools, high schools, vocational education centers, continuing education centers, universities, colleges, and intermediate schools; of which there are 56 private schools.
According to the arrangement plan, the preschool system has 185 schools, and will calculate to reduce 88 schools. The primary system has 152 schools, and is expected to reduce 48 schools. The secondary school system and the inter-primary and secondary schools have 183 schools, and will reduce 115 schools.
High schools and inter-level schools with high schools have 36 schools, which will be reduced by 2 schools. Vocational education and continuing education centers have 14 focal points, the unit will calculate to reduce by 13 focal points.
According to Ms. Thu, after the merger, the department has thoroughly reviewed to reduce about 50% according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee. Of which, 520 facilities managed by commune-level agencies and over 50 focal points managed by the Department of Education and Training were reviewed.
The merger of educational institutions from preschool to high school has been considered so as not to affect the interests of learners and the people.
After the merger, the system will be streamlined, thereby improving the quality and efficiency of school administration, especially contributing to regulating the teacher system, avoiding the current local surplus and shortage.
