Hop Thanh strives for sustainable poverty reduction

In recent years, Hop Thanh commune has been synchronously implementing many solutions to achieve the goal of sustainable poverty reduction.

Hop Thanh commune currently maintains 73 loudspeaker clusters/30 villages, operating regularly 3 sessions/week in the morning and evening, when people are at home to easily access information. Promoting the propaganda of the Party and State's policies and guidelines to each household through the village and hamlet loudspeaker system has become a bright spot, contributing to changing awareness, encouraging people to proactively participate in economic development, and rise out of poverty.

The content of the propaganda radio news focuses on the field of sustainable poverty reduction, including: poverty reduction policies, loan support programs, social security, instructions on converting crop and livestock structures, preventing social evils, information on employment, vocational training... with concise, easy-to-understand content, especially suitable for the majority of ethnic minority people.

Mr. La Van Pao - Head of Peng 2 village, said: Previously, the village had 5 poor households, now there is only 1 household in the category of force majeure. Thanks to the loudspeaker and regular village meetings, people understand the policies of the Party and the State, listen to the guidance of the Party cell and the village, so they have the consciousness to rise up.

In addition to promoting the role of the loudspeaker system, in 2025, the People's Committee of Hop Thanh commune has deployed many in-depth and extensive propaganda activities to raise people's awareness of sustainable poverty reduction, limit the mentality of waiting and relying, and promote the will to rise out of poverty.

During the year, the commune has deployed various forms of propaganda. Specifically, it organized 12 sessions integrated into the People's Committee's meetings with villages, 11 propaganda conferences and 22 village activities combined with disseminating poverty reduction content, attracting more than 5,000 followers.

In addition, the commune's Fanpage has posted 12 news articles and 4 short videos to promote poverty reduction. Through the village's Zalo groups, residential groups and mass organizations, the commune has promptly shared information with the people; at the same time, distributed more than 300 leaflets, billboards and posters at the cultural house, helping the propaganda content reach more than 6,500 people.

Propaganda is also carried out through organizations such as the Farmers' Association, Women's Association, and Youth Union to spread and replicate effective poverty reduction models and typical examples of good production... to motivate households to learn.

Besides communication work, Hop Thanh commune focuses on implementing practical support programs, such as: guidance on farming techniques, providing seeds and materials, preferential loans, vocational training, and connecting product consumption.

Mr. Nguyen Trong Doan - Vice Chairman of Hop Thanh Commune People's Committee, said: The commune has identified the key task as effectively implementing the economic development project associated with the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, while closely integrating it with national target programs. During the implementation process, the commune has proactively reviewed and synthesized the actual needs of the people; at the same time, coordinated with all levels and sectors, especially the Social Policy Bank, to create conditions for people to access preferential capital sources. Currently, the total outstanding debt has reached more than 73 billion VND, contributing to providing practical support for poor and near-poor households to innovate production methods, apply appropriate farming, livestock, crop and business models, thereby gradually increasing income and moving towards sustainable poverty reduction.

In the last months of 2025, Hop Thanh commune is stepping up propaganda and consulting on labor export; regularly updating recruitment information on digital platforms; organizing job fairs to connect labor supply and demand; fully implementing poverty reduction and social security policies, with special attention to vulnerable groups and people affected by natural disasters. The work of reviewing poor households is being strengthened with inspection and supervision, ensuring objectivity, accuracy and suitability to the actual situation. At the same time, vocational training for rural workers, ethnic minorities, poor and near-poor households is being developed according to national target programs.

Recognizing the role of employment in the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, Hop Thanh commune proactively coordinated with local businesses, notably Dong Ta Phoi Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin, to support job referrals and vocational training for workers. After reviewing the needs in the villages, the commune made a list of 6 workers who wished to work at the company. The commune People's Committee also requested that businesses prioritize recruiting local workers who have undergone vocational training, support the recruitment process, guide the application and provide periodic information so that the commune can proactively promote and connect with workers.

In addition, Hop Thanh commune regularly coordinates with the Provincial Employment Service Center and vocational training facilities to organize career guidance classes and skills training for more than 500 workers. Thanks to that, many workers have been supported to find jobs in industrial parks inside and outside the province, even participating in the labor export program.

Promote propaganda to raise people's awareness in economic development and cultural life.

Hop Thanh commune has more than 92% of the population being ethnic minorities, with limited transport and information infrastructure. Currently, the commune has 21 poor households and 251 near-poor households. Thanks to promoting propaganda, implementing practical policies, enhancing vocational training and job creation, and the support of businesses and the political system, the socio-economic appearance of the commune has had many positive changes. Hop Thanh commune aims to prevent the emergence of new poor households, gradually reduce the number of existing poor households and aim to ensure that people have a stable, prosperous and sustainable life.
