
According to Report No. 29/BC-TDT of Ton Duc Thang Secondary School, at about 1:15 p.m. on November 28, 2025, during a Physical Education class, students of class 7/1 got into a fight. The cause was initially determined to be that student D.TNT borrowed an art drawing from his friend TTP to submit to the teacher. Afterwards, P asked for the paper back but T lost it and could not find it. P told T that if he did not return the paper, he would beat him. Then, two students TTP and NHT jumped in to beat D.TNT.
The report said that at the time of the incident, some other students were watching but did not intervene; the teacher did not arrive in time. After receiving the information, the school and the homeroom teacher invited the parents and students involved to work. Before notifying the parents, the school asked the students involved to write a report and reminded the students present at the scene.
Immediately after the video of the incident went viral on the evening of December 1, the People's Committee of Thong Nhat Ward directed the Ward Police and the Department of Culture and Society to coordinate with the Board of Directors, teachers and related students to verify and clarify the incident. Through investigation, the images in the video were consistent with the developments in the school's report; at the same time, it was noted that some students witnessed the incident but did not report it to the teacher and did not intervene.
Thong Nhat Ward People's Committee said that after working with the parents of three students directly involved, the school and the family agreed on the initial handling direction, co-signed the minutes and coordinated with the school in reminding, educating and managing the students. The ward requested the school to organize a review and draw lessons for the homeroom teacher of class 7/1 and related members in the work of managing and educating students; at the same time, strengthen the work of managing, educating ethics and skills to prevent school violence.
Speaking with reporters, student D.TNT's family shared that T was psychologically affected after the incident and expressed their wish to transfer him to another school.
The Board of Directors of Ton Duc Thang Secondary School said they had spoken with T's parents and encouraged the family and the student to continue attending school with peace of mind. The school is committed to ensuring the safety of the students.
According to the People's Committee of Thong Nhat Ward, the locality has sent detailed report No. 468/BC-UBND to the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province for consideration and direction.
Thong Nhat Ward Police said that the unit is continuing to review the details, clarify the cause and responsibility of the parties to handle it in accordance with legal regulations; at the same time, coordinate with the school to ensure the safety of students in the coming time. The ward police advise people to stay calm, monitor information from the authorities and the school; do not post, share, make negative comments, or speculate that affect the honor and privacy of students. People should not spread more images and videos related to children without permission, to avoid hurting the children's psychology and causing insecurity and disorder in cyberspace.
The ward police continue to coordinate with relevant units to strictly and objectively handle the case; when there are official results, they will promptly and publicly inform parents and the people.
