(NLDO) - In just 2 days of campaigning, Bui Van Thu Secondary School (Ba Diem Commune, Ho Chi Minh City) received 1,000 notebooks, 1,000 green pens and more than 13 million VND.

On December 3, the program "Convenient notebook collection for students in disaster-stricken areas" of the Lao Dong Newspaper continued to receive strong response from students in Ho Chi Minh City.

At Bui Van Thu Secondary School (Ba Diem Commune, Ho Chi Minh City), in just 2 days of campaigning, the school received 1,000 notebooks, 1,000 blue pens and 13,188,000 VND.

Students of Bui Van Thu Secondary School take advantage of recess to arrange and pack their notebooks.

Each stack of notebooks was carefully arranged, each stack contained about 50 books. Taking advantage of recess, the students quickly packed the stacks of notebooks into bags to transport to the gathering point of Ba Diem commune, after which the commune arranged a vehicle to transport them to the office of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper.

According to Mr. Le Cong Toai, Vice Principal of Bui Van Thu Secondary School, the school previously mobilized students and teachers to share difficulties with people in the Central region through many forms.

However, as soon as the information that the Lao Dong Newspaper launched the program "Collecting notebooks for students in disaster-affected areas", the school continued to call on everyone to respond.

"This is a meaningful, humane and practical program. With the spirit of sharing, the school hopes that these small gifts can help students in disaster areas return to school soon," said Mr. Toai.

The blank notebooks and money contributed to the program are the result of the cooperation of students, parents and teachers of the school.

Ms. Tran Thuy Huong, Vice Chairwoman of Ba Diem Commune People's Committee, assessed the program "Collecting notebooks for students in disaster-stricken areas" of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper as very meaningful. Through the program, the locality has an additional information channel to support students in flood-affected areas in a timely manner.

"Immediately after receiving the information, the commune quickly deployed it to the education sector, creating conditions for teachers and students to participate. Thereby showing affection and concern for the people of the Central region. Although the donation time was a bit rushed, teachers and students responded very positively, creating a great spread" - Ms. Huong said.

As of December 3, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper has visited and presented 61,000 notebooks to students in Khanh Hoa province and 180,000 notebooks in Dak Lak province.
