Ho Chi Minh City Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation is ready for new goals

(NLDO) - The extraordinary congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation for the 2025-2030 term was successfully held with specific achievement targets at the national and international levels.

After only 6 months of operation of the 6th term congress, the Ho Chi Minh City Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation (HWBF) held an extraordinary congress for the 2025-2030 term, marking a new turning point in development after the organizational merger process according to the policy of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Department of Home Affairs.

The Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation for the 2025-2030 term was launched.

At the 1st extraordinary congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation (term 2025-2030) solemnly held on the morning of December 4, the HWBF Executive Committee was elected. With 100% consensus of the attending delegates, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Minh was re-elected as HWBF President. Mr. and Mrs. Quach Chau Anh Duy and Nguyen Thuy Duong continued to hold the position of HWBF Vice Presidents for the new term. Mr. Pham Ngoc Anh, in charge of the Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports , held the position of General Secretary.

During the V term and 6 months of the VI term of HWBF, the city's weightlifting and bodybuilding have developed strongly in both quantity and quality, increasing the number of weight rooms, gyms and fitness training types, and reaping many achievements in the field of high-performance sports at the national and international levels.

The city's athletes hold key positions in the national team, competing successfully in Southeast Asian, Asian and world championships. Many players have continuously achieved high international achievements, receiving Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister and Labor Medals.

Through the summary report of activities of past terms, the Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation for the 2025-2030 term set out resolutions and targets, including maintaining the position of a strong weightlifting and bodybuilding center in the country in terms of both movement and high achievements; continuing to develop the training movement among the masses, especially students; bringing weightlifting to units without a movement; striving to have athletes meeting the standards to participate in the 2028 Olympics...

The merger of three provinces and cities brings Ho Chi Minh City many advantages in economic , social and sports development. That is the opportunity and driving force for the development and growth of the city's weightlifting and bodybuilding".

Attending the congress, Mr. Hoang Xuan Luong, President of the Vietnam Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation, presented a plan to separate the two federations of weightlifting and bodybuilding to focus on investment according to the national program. Particularly in Ho Chi Minh City and other localities, the Vietnam Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation encourages maintaining the same operating model to attract resources, focusing on the highest level of local direction and management in developing weightlifting and bodybuilding in particular and high-performance sports in general.

On the occasion of the congress, the new Executive Committee also agreed to allocate 5 million VND to support the program "Supplying notebooks for students in disaster-affected areas" launched by the Lao Dong Newspaper, helping students have enough learning equipment to return to school.
