According to the response document to the request for coordination and support in organizing the Vio Global Champion program for high school students sent toFPT IS Company Limited and schools on December 3, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City stated:
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City received Official Dispatch No. 2256 from FPT IS Company Limited regarding the coordination and accompaniment in organizing the Vio Global Champion program for high school students in the 2025-2026 school year. After studying the content of the request, the Department of Education and Training informed that, based on Official Dispatch No. 1915 of the Ministry of Education and Training on reducing competitions for teachers and high school students, the Department of Education and Training has no basis to approve the request to coordinate in organizing the Vio Global Champion program.
As well as basing on the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training on managing educational activities and at the same time ensuring not to create additional financial pressure on students and parents, the Department of Education and Training does not coordinate or accompany in organizing competitions that charge fees for students in any form.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City also requested educational institutions in the area to review and rectify the organization of online competitions that incur fees for students. The Department requested leaders of educational institutions to review and rectify the practice of teachers opening accounts for students to participate in online competitions and parents having to pay fees (directly to businesses) on the platform.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training emphasized that the results of these competitions are not used to evaluate the competition of students, teachers and educational institutions. The forms of commendation and certificates issued by businesses/units are only meant to encourage students and have no value for official awards in schools.
