InnoEx – an event promoting innovation and growth for the Vietnamese and ASEAN business communities – opened on the morning of August 24, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City.

InnoEx attracted nearly 2,000 business leaders and experts at various forums, along with representatives from over 70 investment funds, banks, and financial institutions from Vietnam and internationally, and more than 200 businesses and startups from over 50 countries and territories.

At the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc stated that attracting a large community of businesses, investors, scientists , and startups to InnoEx 2023 is a positive sign, creating favorable conditions and encouraging innovation.

"The leaders of Ho Chi Minh City always support innovation and create the best conditions to promote it because only through innovation can we move forward and achieve sustainable development goals," emphasized Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Duong Anh Duc.

Vietnam is considered a "rising star" in innovation. Recently, many tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, and Amazon have shown high expectations for the Vietnamese market through various innovation programs supporting Vietnamese businesses and startups in this emerging market. Therefore, a special feature of InnoEx 2023 is its synergy with long-standing successful programs such as the Vietnam CEO Forum and Startup Wheel, the largest startup competition in Southeast Asia.

With this convergence, InnoEx is considered one of the biggest innovation events for businesses, featuring 100 outstanding startups from Vietnam and internationally, selected from over 2,000 applications across 5 continents, to present their startups to investors.

“At InnoEx 2023, the presence of innovative companies and pioneering leaders interested in innovation was a starting point for realizing the desire to accelerate and innovate,” shared Ms. Truong Ly Hoang Phi, Chairwoman and CEO of IBP, and Head of the InnoEx Organizing Committee.

In this context, Vietnam needs to accelerate its growth, and there is no other way than through the driving force of innovation. Albert Antoine, a member of the InnoEx 2023 advisory board, stated: “We talk a lot about innovation, but not all businesses understand it correctly or apply it properly. Innovation is not just about digital transformation or technology; it starts with mindset and is an essential asset for every entrepreneur on their business journey.”

InnoEx is jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Young Entrepreneurs Association, the Business Support Center for Young Entrepreneurs (BSSC), and IBP Investment Promotion and Business Support Joint Stock Company.

This event is also of great significance because it takes place in a particularly important context for Ho Chi Minh City as it is implementing Resolution 98, and it is also of great importance ahead of the City Economic Forum 2023, scheduled to take place from September 13 to 17, 2023, with the theme "Green Growth - A Journey Towards Zero Emission Reduction".
