Implementing a two-tiered government model, the province's food safety management apparatus has been streamlined for greater efficiency, enhanced inter-agency coordination, and increased accountability of leaders in management, supervision, and handling of violations. Departments such as Health, Agriculture and Environment, and Industry and Trade have proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee on the implementation of many comprehensive solutions.
There is a strong shift from passive management to proactive monitoring based on risk assessment data, aiming for focused and targeted inspections. The dissemination of information, inspections, and certification of food safety compliance are implemented synchronously, contributing to the standardization of production and business activities and protecting public health.
The province has over 61,800 food production, business, and food service establishments. During the "Food Safety Action Month" in 2026, the province established 22 inspection teams to inspect 650 establishments. At the commune level, over 3,700 establishments were inspected, 4 violations were penalized, and recommendations were made to handle 2 establishments that caused food poisoning, with total fines exceeding 300 million VND.
