Accompanying them were representatives from the Provincial People's Committee Office; the Department of Agriculture and Environment; the Provincial Police; the Provincial Military Command; the Hoa Lu City People's Committee; representatives from the Forest Protection Department; the Mobile Forest Protection and Fire Prevention and Fighting Team; the Hoa Lu - Gia Vien Inter-district Forest Protection Unit; the Hoa Lu - Van Long Special Forest Management Board; representatives from Xuan Truong Construction Enterprise and Doanh Sinh Trading and Tourism Service Joint Stock Company.
According to the Forest Protection Department's report, from the beginning of the year, forest management, protection, and fire prevention and control have been closely monitored and directed by the leadership: issuing directives to units to regularly inspect and protect forests at the source; organizing the implementation of the 2025 forest fire prevention and control plan; organizing 3 mobile propaganda campaigns; organizing 55 propaganda and training conferences in Nho Quan and Gia Vien districts and Hoa Lu city; repairing and relocating forest protection and fire prevention and control propaganda signs.
Forest fire prevention and control forces in the province have been established from the provincial to the grassroots level, including 1 Provincial Fire Prevention and Control and Rescue Command Board; 5 district-level steering committees; 44 commune-level steering committees; and 210 community forest protection teams. Notably, 9 forest owners have independently established their own forest fire prevention and control forces.
Investment has been made in constructing and supplementing many forest fire prevention and control facilities such as: fire prohibition signs, visual information boards, forest fire forecast boards; fire watchtowers; 10km of green firebreaks; forestry roads for patrolling and protecting forests, forest fire prevention and control combined with community needs…
Investing in the purchase of vehicles, equipment, tools, and machinery for forest fire prevention and control, such as one drone; seven GPS devices; nine handheld walkie-talkies; eight blowers; and many other tools, including binoculars, chainsaws, high-pressure pumps, machetes, sickles, etc.
The provincial forest fire prevention and control inspection team conducted on-site inspections at the Thanh Wharf tourist area (Tam Coc - Bich Dong tourist area) and the Thung Nham ecological tourist area. These areas, with their extensive forests and numerous national historical sites, and especially the Trang An World Natural Heritage Site, attract a large number of tourists, thus posing significant risks of forest fires and explosions.
To ensure safe operations, businesses consistently maintain fire safety and rescue conditions at all areas and locations under their management. Annually, these areas and locations strengthen their Fire Prevention and Control Command Boards; organize fire prevention and rescue drills; develop plans for handling fire, explosion, and accident incidents; and organize personnel, procure and supplement equipment and facilities to ensure security, order, and safety, especially during events and tourist seasons.
Speaking at the inspection, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Song Tung acknowledged the results of forest fire prevention and rescue activities of tourism businesses in the past period. However, to ensure highly effective forest fire prevention, he requested that the Fire Prevention and Control Command Boards in tourist areas and destinations always adhere to the motto "prevention is key, firefighting must be prompt and proactive".
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that businesses make good preparations in terms of personnel, vehicles, equipment, tools, and logistics according to the "four on-the-spot" principle, and receive and process forest fire information accurately and promptly, verifying the cause of the fire, the location of the fire, the scale of the fire, the type of forest burned, etc.
All levels of government, sectors, localities, and businesses need to improve coordination and seamless cooperation among the forces involved in firefighting; strictly implement firefighting procedures and operational plans approved by the Forest Fire Prevention and Control Command.
Along with developing scenarios and timely response plans in case of fire, it is necessary to focus on training and drills to handle fire situations; strengthen the dissemination of information on forest protection to all levels of the population and tourists; and update information on the level of forest fire risk to report to the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue at all levels for timely support.
