Export turnover in 7 months reached 10.4 billion USD, up 10.8%

In the first 7 months of 2024, the export turnover of goods in Hanoi reached 10.4 billion USD, an increase of 10.8% over the same period in 2023.

Of which, the domestic economic sector reached 949 million USD, up 1.2% and 23.2%; the foreign direct investment sector reached 630 million USD, up 0.9% and 1.4%.

In the first 7 months of 2024, the total export turnover of goods reached 10.4 billion USD, up 10.8% over the same period. Of which, the domestic economic sector reached 6.1 billion USD, up 15.8%; the foreign direct investment sector reached 4.3 billion USD, up 4.3%.

Some commodity groups had export turnover increase compared to the same period: Computers, electronic goods and components reached 1.5 billion USD, up 10.9%; machinery, equipment and spare parts reached 1.3 billion USD, up 6.6%; textiles reached 1.2 billion USD, up 1.8%; means of transport and spare parts reached 1.2 billion USD, up 16.7%; agricultural products reached 958 million USD, up 61.1%; wood and wood products reached 478 million USD, up 11.3%; other goods reached 2.6 billion USD, up 10.5%.

Import turnover of goods in July reached 3.6 billion USD, up 3.2% over the previous month and up 17.4% over the same period in 2023. Of which, the domestic economic sector reached 3.0 billion USD, up 3.3% and 18.1% respectively; the foreign direct investment sector reached 569 million USD, up 3.1% and 13.8% over the same period.

In the first 7 months of 2024, the total import turnover of goods is estimated at 23.1 billion USD, up 14.7% over the same period last year, of which: The domestic economic sector imported 19.3 billion USD worth of goods, up 17.1%; the foreign direct investment sector imported 3.8 billion USD, up 3.7%.

Some groups of goods with large import values include: Machinery, equipment and spare parts reached 3.9 billion USD, up 18.4%; petroleum reached 2.9 billion USD, up 1.3%; computers, electronic goods and components reached 1.4 billion USD, up 11.3%; means of transport and spare parts reached 1.3 billion USD, up 22.8%; iron and steel reached 1.3 billion USD, up 37.2%; other metals reached 856 million USD, up 56.6%; plastics reached 727 million USD, up 8%; other goods reached 8.1 billion USD, up 15.5%.
