TPO - Kim Soo Hyun has spoken out after YouTuber Kim Se Ui, who repeatedly accused the actor of dating a minor and being involved in the death of Kim Sae Ron, was arrested. The actor asserted that the circulating information was determined to be false after an investigation.

On May 27th, Gold Medalist, Kim Soo Hyun's management company, issued a statement saying that the allegations and documents presented by Garo Sero regarding Kim Soo Hyun dating minors under 18 were false. This conclusion was reached by the authorities after an investigation. Kim Soo Hyun thanked the authorities for clarifying the matter based on objective evidence.

"Through thorough legal procedures and investigations, the truth has finally been proven. Thank you to the audience for your trust and patience in waiting for Kim Soo Hyun all this time," Gold Medalist added.

The company reiterated the actor's statement at a 2025 press conference, after Kim Soo Hyun was embroiled in controversy: "I don't ask people to believe me. I will definitely prove it."

Gold Medalist further stated that over the past year, Kim Soo Hyun has focused on clarifying the false accusations and clearing his name.

Kim Soo Hyun has been cleared of the allegations of dating Kim Sae Ron as a minor.

On May 26, the Seoul Central District Court issued an arrest warrant for Kim Se Ui on charges of potential evidence destruction and fleeing. She is accused of repeatedly spreading information claiming that Kim Soo Hyun dated Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor, and making accusations related to the cause of the actress's death.

In addition to the defamation charge, Kim Se Ui is also under investigation for allegedly using AI to edit Kim Sae Ron's voice recordings and distributing private images of Kim Soo Hyun.

In March 2025, Kim Soo Hyun admitted to having dated Kim Sae Ron, but denied that the relationship occurred when she was underage. The actor filed a lawsuit against Kim Se Ui and related parties, alleging defamation and the spread of false information.

Following Kim Se-ui's arrest, Lee Seung-jae, a lawyer at Lee & Partners, noted that this was a rare case, as typical defamation cases rarely lead to pretrial arrest warrants. According to the lawyer, the court's approval of the arrest warrant indicates that the prosecution considers the case to be highly serious, but the final sentence will ultimately depend on the investigation and trial process.
