Attending the meeting were Comrade Nguyen Van Manh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee, and Head of the 515 Steering Committee of Hue City, and Comrade Ven Phet Lat Da Vong, Vice Chairman of the Salavan Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Salavan Province Special Task Force.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the two sides reviewed the results of their cooperation over the past period. Despite facing many difficulties due to scarce information and rugged terrain, thanks to the sincere and heartfelt assistance of the Party committees, authorities, and people of the Lao ethnic groups in Salavan province, Team 192 successfully searched for and collected 8 remains of fallen soldiers during the 2025-2026 dry season.
To enhance the effectiveness of this work during the 2026-2027 dry season, Comrade Nguyen Van Manh hopes that the Salavan Provincial Special Task Force will continue to direct all levels and mobilize the people to actively detect, provide information, and support Team 192 in carrying out its mission with the spirit of "as long as there is a source of information, we will continue searching."
Expressing profound gratitude for the noble sacrifices of Vietnamese martyrs for the independence of Laos, Comrade Ven Phet Lat Da Vong affirmed that coordinating the search for and collection of the remains of martyrs is a sacred responsibility of the Party Committee, government, and people of Salavan province.
During the talks, the two sides signed a memorandum of cooperation for the 2026-2027 dry season; they also agreed on the principle of building a memorial house to preserve the remains of fallen soldiers and to welcome their relatives in Salavan province. It is expected that a solemn ceremony to repatriate the remains of the fallen soldiers to Vietnam will be held on May 20th.
