Ky Son: 19 houses damaged by flood at night

Heavy rain on the night of May 29 caused a lot of damage to Ky Son district (Nghe An). Local forces are helping people stabilize their lives.

On the evening of May 29 and early morning of May 30, heavy rain occurred over a large area in Ky Son district, causing damage to a number of houses, infrastructure, and crops in the localities.

According to a quick report from the People's Committee of Ky Son district, the flood damaged 19 houses. Of which, 2 were in My Ly commune, 2 were in Huoi Tu commune, 7 were in Dooc May commune, and 8 were in Muong Tip commune.

Regarding traffic and technical infrastructure, heavy rains and floods washed away a bridge in Dinh Son 1 village, Huu Kiem commune, affecting the travel of 07 households with 37 people. Floodwaters broke the concrete bridge in Huoi Khap stream in Na Loi commune, on the Na Loi - Pieng Lau - Huoi Xan route.

Some roads were affected by landslides and rising water at overflow bridges, causing traffic jams, such as Noong De - Huoi Poc route (Nam Can commune); Xieng Thu - Bao Thang route (Chieu Luu and Bao Thang communes); Na Loi commune bypass route; Na Loi - Dooc May - Keng Du route; Huu Lap - Bao Nam route; and the route to Huoi Kho village, Dooc May commune.

In addition, some domestic water pipes were washed away and some fish ponds of local people in the communes were flooded. Total damage is estimated at over 3 billion VND.

During the heavy rain, the District People's Committee and the District Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue directly went to the scene, directed the communes to mobilize forces to support people in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and repairing immediate damage so that people can stabilize their lives./.
