In the 2023 high school graduation exam, Hanoi has the highest percentage of independent candidates, nearly 4,000 students.

On the afternoon of June 16, the working delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training , led by Minister Nguyen Kim Son, worked with the Steering Committee for the 2023 Hanoi High School Graduation Exam on exam preparations in the city.

Reporting at the Conference, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong said that the whole city had 102,095 candidates registered to take the exam, of which 88,831 candidates took the exam under the High School Education program and 13,264 candidates took the exam under the Continuing Education program.

The City plans to arrange 4,263 examination rooms; with 170 waiting rooms and 378 spare rooms. In addition, 189 examination sites will be arranged in 30 districts, towns and cities (including 72 examination sites located at secondary schools, 2 examination sites located at vocational education and continuing education centers and 115 examination sites located at high schools).

The city also mobilized 14,907 officials, teachers, and employees to participate in the exam supervision work at the exam sites; nearly 600 officials and teachers participated in the exam marking work. In addition, 537 inspectors were assigned to the exam sites. A monitoring team of 16 groups was established, each group consisting of 3 members, including leaders and experts from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training and the City Inspectorate... The City Steering Committee established 11 inspection teams for the 2023 High School Graduation Exam in the city.

From organizing the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2023-2024 school year, Hanoi has learned some lessons to organize the high school graduation exam, especially in printing and copying exam questions.

Currently, the printing and copying of exam papers is being carried out as planned. The printing and copying locations are arranged separately, ensuring 3 independent rounds and meeting safety and security conditions according to exam regulations.

Recognizing the importance of the exam, Hanoi City pays special attention to training exam invigilators, requiring that 100% of invigilators must have a firm grasp of the regulations, have a high sense of responsibility, and not be subjective at any stage.

Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong said that in addition to regular support from schools in all aspects, the Department has implemented many solutions to help candidates review through the Hanoi Study online learning and testing system, learning via television (3 sessions per week)... The plan to support candidates in the upcoming exam has also been built by Hanoi with the spirit of prioritizing the most favorable conditions for candidates.

Clarifying the characteristics of Hanoi, Mr. Tran The Cuong said that Hanoi has never had the highest rate of independent candidates among localities, like this year with nearly 4,000 students.

At the working session, noting to Hanoi City in organizing the exam, according to Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Department of Quality Management (Ministry of Education and Training), with the largest number of candidates in the localities, Hanoi needs to pay attention to the exam marking work to ensure the general plan of the Ministry.

At the same time, carefully check the preparation and organization of the exam at all exam locations, pay attention to supporting candidates with health problems to ensure compliance with regulations and convenience for candidates.

Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Education and Training Nguyen Duc Cuong suggested that Hanoi City step up propaganda and create consensus to prevent violations of regulations, including informing and warning candidates not to bring illegal items into the exam room; thoroughly training exam invigilators on how to identify high-tech devices that can be used for cheating...

Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son emphasized that in more than a week, the 2023 high school graduation exam will take place nationwide with more than 1 million candidates registering to take the exam. Preparing to organize the largest exam of the year requires a lot of work.

On June 15, the National Steering Committee for the Examination held a meeting with the Steering Committees of localities to review the preparation for the examination. The Ministry of Education and Training is particularly interested in the organization of the examination in Hanoi, because Hanoi has more than 1/10 of the total number of candidates nationwide, and the examination always receives great attention from the people. This requires the organization of the examination in Hanoi to be careful and serious at all stages and ensure that the examination takes place safely, seriously and according to plan.

Accepting the opinion of Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha affirmed: The City's Examination Steering Committee and districts, towns and cities determined that although the organization of the exam is annual, they are not subjective.

The City and local exam steering committees will continue to inspect and carefully review exam organization plans at 100% of exam locations; have scenarios to respond to situations, and at the same time, increase pre-exam propaganda about candidates' responsibilities.
