A good foundation promotes the development of rural industries.
During the period 2021-2025, the industrial promotion program in Dong Thap province achieved many positive results. Within the province, the program supported 64 projects applying modern machinery and equipment to 88 rural industrial establishments. For many small and medium-sized production facilities, this was not only financial support but also a crucial impetus to change production mindsets.
In many craft villages and agricultural processing facilities, the introduction of new machinery into milling, drying, and packaging stages has helped shorten production time, save labor costs, and improve quality consistency. Many businesses that were previously hesitant to invest are now more confident after seeing the practical effectiveness of models supported by industrial promotion programs.

Simultaneously, the development of outstanding rural industrial products has been well implemented. Over the past five years, the province has participated in 10 domestic trade fairs and organized five provincial-level selections of outstanding rural industrial products. As a result, 156 establishments with 180 products received provincial-level certification; 30 establishments with 32 products received regional-level certification; and 10 establishments with 10 products received national-level recognition. These products not only help businesses expand their markets but also contribute to shaping the image of Dong Thap's rural industrial products as higher quality and more appealing to consumer tastes.
Industrial promotion also plays a crucial role in human resource development through vocational training, management consulting, and supporting businesses in accessing market information.
Based on that foundation, Dong Thap enters the 2026-2030 period with a more proactive mindset, greater expectations, and a more comprehensive approach.
With technology, greening, and the market as the central themes,
Dong Thap's industrial promotion program for the period 2026-2030 is built in line with the general principles of national industrial promotion, using innovation, digital transformation, and green transformation as direct tools to improve the productivity, quality, and competitiveness of rural industries.
Regarding specific objectives, this phase sets fairly clear targets. Accordingly, 1,300 rural industrial establishments will be supported in applying modern machinery, equipment, and advanced technology lines; 50 establishments will be developed as pilot models for cleaner production; and 80 establishments will receive support in wastewater and exhaust gas treatment technology. These are objectives that both promote production development and address environmental issues.
Notably, the program will prioritize sectors with local advantages such as agricultural, forestry, and aquatic product processing, handicrafts, textiles, and agricultural machinery. Technical demonstration models, circular production models, and sustainable poverty reduction models in disadvantaged areas will be promoted to create a ripple effect.
From a market perspective, Dong Thap's industrial promotion plan for the period 2026-2030 continues to consider trade promotion and brand building as key elements. During this period, the locality plans to participate in two national-level selections of outstanding rural industrial products, support 120 businesses in registering trademarks, participate in 15 domestic and 5 international trade fairs, and support businesses in participating in an additional 45 domestic and 15 international trade fairs. Bringing products to market and helping businesses connect with actual demand is considered the most effective and sustainable form of support.
Human resources continue to be a crucial pillar. During the 2026-2030 period, the program aims to provide vocational training for 4,500 workers, focusing on digital skills and smart manufacturing management; while also training approximately 8,000 trainees in business startup, enterprise management, and cleaner production. The new approach is to train based on the actual needs of businesses, closely linked to market demands.
A notable new development is the digitalization of industrial promotion management. A unified digital model for managing typical rural industrial projects and products will be built from the central to local levels. This will not only improve the efficiency of state management but also increase transparency, enabling businesses to access information more quickly and conveniently.
In the long term, Dong Thap aims to develop models and clusters linking production, consumption, and logistics, especially in agricultural product processing and handicrafts. Alongside this, it will support the transition to green energy, prioritizing energy-intensive industries such as agricultural, forestry, and aquatic product processing, food processing, and mechanical engineering.
From the results achieved in the 2021-2025 period to the goals and solutions for the 2026-2030 period, it can be seen that the Dong Thap industrial promotion program is gradually shifting from a role of "initial support" to a leading role in development. The remaining issue is not only resources, but also how to organize and implement the program in a synchronized, consistent, and practical manner.
By doing so, industrial promotion will continue to be a reliable "facilitator" for rural industries in Dong Thap. This will contribute to creating more jobs, increasing people's income, and building a sustainable and in-depth local industrial base in the coming years.
During the period 2026-2030, Dong Thap's industrial promotion program will focus on science , technology, green transformation, and sustainable development as the core of its support activities.
